I think it's only when certain characters log in.

Unfortunately, logging in and sitting idle until people log in is also a pretty terrible strategy; folk just learn that you're generally idle (or, at least, generally distracted).

Logging in and doing stuff is either horribly boring (grinding) or a quick path to a shallow grave (adventure).

This seems to be related to how summers are bad for us every year. Schedules tend to be more fluid in the summer, but we don't have enough people where you can find a group by just logging in -- which means that you won't sync up with someone by just having compatible and stable schedules.

And of course it takes energy to drum up enthusiasm for some dumb thing or another (and, to be clear, it's all dumb -- we're in a decade-long project to out-fanfiction the setting with all of the worst traits of fanfiction already in it -- but one would hope that it would either be fun or engaging while being dumb), but (at least for me) enthusiasm for the game comes from the game, which explains the cycles of burnout and recovery (which also isn't great; if we can't manage constancy, we should at least shoot for predictability).

Thank you Zelk for the info, and thank you everyone for the replies.

With thought post-post I did realize the Summer is a low time so yeah...

I am victim to all of the above, but I still do sit in taverns and play in a way I have called: "Active-Idle", which is literally hanging online walking around safe areas or sitting near hearths of popular IC taverns for hours with hopes anyone will login but literally watching the screen the whole time until someone might login.

Monumentally more things to do (most of all RP'ing) when even 1 more person on - so I just sit and wait... :)

Okee then - here's hoping :)

The drawback of petitioning for people here . . . is that those that have abandoned ALFA don't see it unfortunately

Yea I now. "Pretty Lit." means I was fully cut. Fully Cut means plastered. Plastered means hammered. Hammered means drunk.

And while I agree completely, I think we'd all be pretty shocked to know how many lurkers read this forum even though they won't log in, and my words must have been so inspirational to them, we'll see a flood of veteran players back by Sunday. They were so inspirational, I forgot I typed them.

I have hopes to get back and play some, I just can't find time.

I have 20 mins here and there nowadays, not more.

I remember one does not have much to do online solo, at least at higher levels.

I became a dad this week so it might be a while for me. I've not given up on my campaign idea though, so it might rise from the tomb again (literally).
