Seeking players for new campaign on TSM
Posted: Wed Feb 04, 2015 2:57 am
I will be starting a campaign on TSM soon (in the next couple weeks or so) and I am looking for players interested in joining. I would rather not give away a lot of information yet as how the campaign starts will depend on the players/characters that respond. Overall, here's what I'm looking for:
Schedule:
My availability for this is Mon-Thurs from about 8 pm to midnight CST. I may be able to move it up to 7 pm if that hour is the make or break for someone (Probably some east coaster?). If people responding could note their preferred night and time, I'll see how the scheduling lines up to include as many people as is possible.
Characters:
Existing or new characters are fine. I'm not worried about what the average level of the party is, as the threat can always be adjusted for party level, I just don't want a huge level difference in the party. So if I get four people with level 1's, your level 12 will not be welcome. However, if a group of existing PCs in the 6-10 range signs up, lowbies are probably going to have issues. I won't stop low levels from signing up if they wish and I won't target them, but I'm not going to make everything ignore your existence either. The -6 floor should be enough to stop you from getting crushed instantly.
All alignments are welcome-ish. Any alignment COULD be fine for this campaign, but it will be on you to make a character that is capable and willing to get along with the group and follow plot hooks. I will not chase after your character if they don't care about what's going on and I won't force the other players to cooperate with you.
Please note what existing character you would like to include, or what your basic concept is if you're planning to roll a new a character.
That being said, if someone does want to make a new character and is willing to let me hand you a back story and mess with the character in ways that may not immediately make sense for plot purposes, PM me. I may have a job for you.
Some notes about me as a DM:
The first thing I should say is that it has been four years since I've looked at the DM client. There will be a bit of a learning curve, especially since so much has been changed since the last time I used it. Don't expect harrowing combat that pushes characters to the very edge of their limits; that just takes experience I don't have yet. What I will do (and prefer) is try to present players with interesting choices and ideas based around characters and organizations with different worldviews and philosophies. I'd like to players to serve as the deciding factor in faction conflicts and have to make uncomfortable choices about who their friends are and what behaviors they actually think are acceptable.
I feel like this post should be probably be longer and I'm forgetting something, so feel free to ask questions and I will answer what I think won't give too much away.
Respondents so far:
Regas: Aseel - Scout/psycho
Brokenbone: Bamshogbo - Healbomber
Mikayla: Probably Layla? - level 7 murderer
Xan: Wood elf with the unspellable name - level 4 murderhobo
Mick: Level 7 sorcerer
HEEGZ: Wizard of unspecified paramaters
Kiyoti: Level 2 clr/ftr
Gonz.0: Level 2 lady of the evening
Heero: level 1 something?
Adanu: level 4 druid
MaskedIllusion: level 2 scout
Average level: 4.5
