Re: Voice Work for Videos
I'll give it a go Monday. Any preferred file types/programs I need to use?

Re: Voice Work for Videos
No real preference, aside from asking for a step higher quality audio than you'd think is necessary for a YouTube video; editing and compression will take a bite out of whatever we start with.

Soo... the last Monday came and went and we're on a new Monday now. Anyone else willing to try the posted script?
Doesn't need to be verbatim, unless you're more comfortable with that. Just need the content, so we can show people how to work the things.

Sorry, it's harder for me than I thought to read in fluent English. Speaking is much easier. I gave it a go but it sounded horrible, a lot of mispronounced words and rephrasing mid-read. I'll give it a few more attempts tonight and hope I can send something usable in a few hours.
Also: How do you say NESS? The letters themselves or as it sounds?

Re: Voice Work for Videos
You grump at the Zelk to show some damn professionalism in her writing; it's "Neshke's Extendable Spawning System" the first time it's referenced (I've updated the script), and "nes" thereafter (one syllable, close mid-front unrounded vowel. I have no idea what all languages you speak; that's the vowel from "bed" if you're Englishing, the vowel from ليش if you're speaking Levantine Arabic, and is close to the vowel from אם if you're speaking Hebrew.)
Re: Voice Work for Videos
Well, these are both horrible examples (Other than the bed one which is quite understandable).
If you want the Hebrew one to make sense it needs punctuation marks.
Otherwise אם is most likely to be read as Eem, which is the most common word with those letter that means "If".
Though it could be Aem, or Am, or... well pretty much anything.
Sense you were looking for bed...
I assume you meant אֵם which means mother or matriarch which is quite suitable for someone who plays Teresa to choose, but not the word someone would think you meant without those two little dots or a sentence to make sense out of the word.
by the way, i'm still horrible, but i'll give it a few more attempts.

Re: Voice Work for Videos
Well that at least tells me which language you speak. I suck at the Hebrew alphabet and didn't spot those little dots while muddling through my old notes; You are correct and I meant אֵם, which is pronounced a little lower in the mouth than the "e" you'd likely use for "NESS" if you're a Yankee, but right about on the mark if you're a Kiwi. So high five Rumple on that point, and sorry about my misuse of your language.

Re: Voice Work for Videos
I'm a douche, I really wanna do this, just a lot of stress makes me postpone it over and over again.
Will try again tonight.

pragmatic (adj.)
The opposite of idealistic is pragmatic, a word that describes a philosophy of "doing what works best."
From Greek pragma "deed," the word has historically described philosophers and politicians who were
concerned more with real-world application of ideas than with abstract notions. A pragmatic person
is sensible, grounded, and practical.

Re: Voice Work for Videos
This weekend I will be making a video covering Git and how to use it to contribute to ALFA.
Please let me know below what you would like to see covered in the video.

Git is a kind of version control; such tools are necessary for managing development projects which take more than an afternoon to write.
