King of the Ring fighting competition is being held in WHL 18th of Jan (US date). All, regardless of class or level are invited to attend at least one of the shows. There will be more going on than just GLORIOUS BLOODSPORT.
I have set aside 3 blocks of two hours each on Sunday the 18th (for most of you). The times may even be Euro friendly. Attend as many as you wish.

Do not miss your chance to see! Do not miss your chance to fight for a share in over a THOUSAND GOLDEN COINS!

There will be two "qualifying events" before the main Knock Out tournament.
The first tournament at Boarkeskyr Bridge will be held on the 18th of Jan (Us time). Exact timing TBA.
The IC rules for the qualifying tournaments are thusly.
This is a fisticuffs tournament, not pig wrestling. We are exhibiting the gentlemanly art of punching and kicking each other until one of you falls over and cannot or will not get up again. There is no "accidental" kicks to the testicles, rakes to the eyes, or choke holds. In qualifying competitions, competitors will be placed against another of equal size, skill, and stature. One victory is enough to secure a place in the Finals! One victory is enough to receive a gold prize of fifty! golden coins. Competitors may be invited to fight again should there still be willing participants. Women who fight topless will be awarded an additional fifty gold coins. This DOES NOT apply to half orcs or grandmothers. No armor, weaponry, or magic is permitted in the ring! Contestants will be screened for magics before and during the match. No match will be fought to the death unless by mutual agreement. Matches fought to the death will have prize money doubled. Losers in the death match will have twenty five gold coins awarded posthumously to their estate. The crowd favorite on the night will win an extra fifty coins.
The OOC rules
Straight up, unarmed combat
Use subdual unless your intent is to kill your opponent
You will be matched against a npc of equal level and size (height) in the qualifiers
You may try to cheat however you wish, please contact me in advance to arrange. A morale boost from a bard singing does not count as cheating
This is set against the background of a trade war in the WHL - There are plot elements and story behind the event that may not be obvious yet
Knockdown is permitted
Crowd favortism may be won with emotes, costume, charisma, a hype bard, and the entertainment value of the fight
Obviously those with unarmed combat (monks) will have an advantage, that's just the way it is. All pc's are invited to attend and participate though. There will be more going on than just GLORIOUS BLOODSPORT and TITILATING COMBAT

Please note, the prizes for the finals will be significantly higher. The above guidelines/rules are for the qualifying events only.

In the case of high hit pointed non monks fighting the same, rather than yawn fests with two chickens slapping at each other with max CE and regenerating subdual damage, i will OOC take each to half (or more!) of their max total hit points to ensure a speedier match.
*recalls greengrass yawn fest combats with two highbie defensive fighters*

Depending on player numbers there may well be other non-punchy stuff that happens when a lot of people pile into a small town looking for trouble. It'll depend on how many fights I need to run. An "event" to cap off the day will run in the last session.

Alright then.
11th hour...
WHL is down, and as far as I know, due to a technical issue the Ring area never made it into the mod.
Sorry folks, i'm going to reschedule this for one week from now. Same times, on the 25th.
10-12, 3-5, 7-9pm pst.

if you can't get the area into the mod, feel free to port the players onto any mod that has the ring already for the fight scene, then port them back out to whl. you can use MS if need be. any waivers needed granted.
