Anyone may edit pages. If you see something wrong, please post about it or fix it.

Unlike the previous Drupal system, we have a public changelog for the wiki.

Just be conscious of admin domains. The Player Manual and Rulebook pages should not be edited by anyone but the respective admin responsible for those documents.

Many popular sites (such as the Forgotten Realms Wiki) are switching to 4e content and lore. Those who have an understanding of 3e, or ALFA-specific lore, please consider writing! I'm here for any with questions. The Help Wanted page will have details on what needs help.

Additionally, a thanks to Rumple C, MaskedIllussion, and Zelknolf for their contributions thus far, as well as whoever wrote the previous documented pages (which have been converted over).

Looks good; reviewing parts of it as I go.

I had a write up on a txt file somewhere a long time ago on some rules/spell changes acr made as well as some lore stuff that would've been ideal, but I think it's all gone. *cries*

I think this kind of stuff:

http://www.alandfaraway.org/phpBB3/view ... =6&t=49442

should be prominently displayed, to try and emphasize the story aspect (even though that thread is pathetically neglected atm alas) of ALFA. Can someone start/create a 'Our Ongoing Story/past/current plots' kind of page where folks like the Vilaquair group, Knights Draconis, Swords Edge, and even past/currently inactive groups/campaigns can put up meta free content to give a sense of 'ALFA has been/still is in the business of storytelling for a long time'? Perhaps a prominent link to our library as well.

That's supposedly our main draw according to the front page/advertisements after all! :)

Great effort! A much better format for keeping tabs on some of our information and history than our sprawling, messy and always-evolving forums.

Please keep in mind that writing about ongoing plots, campaigns or characters is still subject to all of ALFA's rules, just like posting in the library or other sections for the forum.

That said, "I want to murder your character so I can write a fan page!" is sadly not a valid CvC reason :P.

Cheers,

http://www.alandfaraway.org/wiki/Event

There's no content under "Events" but I suppose anyone has the power to start populating a list of past events and flesh them out to heart's content.

Check out the "Ruqel" link for an example of "okay, a player group has clearly laid out what that temple area near Candlekeep is all about." http://www.alandfaraway.org/wiki/Ruqel

You can imagine people could also have fun with say, the so-far blank "People" link (stick an ego piece about "such and such PC dead or alive, is awesome or a bastard or whatever") same'd go for the so far blank "Locations" link if anyone wanted to pump up something about their favourite dungeon or notable faction headquarters or best bar ever, etc.

Currently a lot of pages that go off into nowhere-- which I suppose is a demonstration of how many holes we had in the Drupal stuff. In theory, any member could log in and write/edit/correct a page, and the requirement that you be a member will hopefully keep us from having to deal with vandals.

We also might want to establish the mark where "noteworthy enough to go on a wiki" goes-- if we put a page up for every level 1, or if folk started using it like Library II: Electric Bugaloo, we'd have a lot of signal v. noise problems in the documentation.

As far as I'm concerned, you can use it for whatever you want. It's a community wiki, the only restricted parts are where they fall under the domain of the PA/DMA, such as for posts about Standards and the Player Manual. Or, unless Hialmar doesn't want it like that.

Want to put your dead character's bio up there, for all to see? Go for it. Have a level 10+ character that would likely have some public information about them? Well, talk to your DM team to make sure you're as well-known as you think you are, then go for it. I will be policing the wiki, of course, but no crazy nonsense content yet.

And, yes, there are a lot of holes. Namely, I don't remember all the crap that has happened in ALFA in the past two years, let alone from before I joined. What I do know is tech, so I've been laying out templates for people to use, putting up class information, and the like.

We could definitely use some help in a variety of areas, to flush this wiki out to be as deep or shallow as the community wants it to be.

I'm happy to porting of monotonous repetitive info (for example, god stuff). Just give me the right format/template for it to go in, and i shall make it so.

Easy enough to just look at the source of a page to see how things are done.

Azuth for example.

Templates are your friend: Deity Template.

You can see more templates by clicking the links at the bottom of the page.
