I just wanted to let everyone know and ask you let your friends know that 010-Baldur's Gate will now be an open application server.

This will happen in the next few weeks and it will be posted here when that change finally implements server side.

Please give your support to the BG dm team at this time of transition and new opportunity!

Will MS still be also?

Yes, at this time we will have two open application servers.

Good move here. BG is a great place to get outsiders hooked simply on account of the gathering statics and mailruns that can be done by a level 1.

Thanks to HEEGZ and Zelk, BG is now password-less. We do need to make the starting area similar to MS's, but otherwise it should be good to go.

To any members playing on BG (or MS), please welcome any non-members to ALFA. If you are inclined, please role play with them and answer any questions they may have about us. If you feel they are a great role player and you wish to recommend them for acceptance to ALFA, please sent a PM to Aitana who is head of admissions, or to the player admin (HEEGZ).

As Ronan mentioned, we will be updating BG to include a similar starting area to the one on MS that explains a lot of things about ALFA. Thanks!

How this works is that members and non-members can both log into BG and MS without a password. Non-members are capped at level 3 and can only travel between the BG and MS portals, they cannot travel to WHL or TSM.

Due to griefing, BG's password has been restored.

I really don't think we should forsake this idea just cause of one jerk.
It felt nice to have random people log (even if one of them was apparently... an idiot)
I do tend to think there're more good people out there than jerks.

So i'm hoping this is just a temporary knee jerk (excuse the pun ) reaction, and that we're not giving up on the idea all together.

Agreed. Find solutions to dealing with these people and reopen. Don't just close it completely.

Though I see no benefit in having more than one server be open. IMO our best OAS server should be the open one, with the rest being closed. We'd rather force the n00bs to log into the server with the best OASy content anyway.
