A Land Far Away

hello everyone. i love ALFA. i joind in about a year or two back, mostlly since i dont have time to PnP that much. i thought ALFA could be a replacment to my weekly sessions i had back in the day. sadlly i learnd NWN is not PnP, unless a DM and the players choose to treat it like this.

i am looking to start something new, not only a Campaign. but maybe a new approach to how we can enjoy more (some probably would enjoy less).

that is why applied for DM at MS.

at the next couple of weeks i will start DM regular more the 1 time a week. and i am looking for players. not every player. i am only looking for 1 level toons. toons that will be created for this purpse only. to be build for pearsonallty and habits, thier unique or regular background, what ever they want to do in their short or long life. i want to bring the RP back to the center. to make an uncanny story.
i dont want my players to go venture or hunt xp while i am not DM this Campaign, since (like PnP) i want to always carry on from the point we left (unless its RP if the situation calls for it) and that toon will have to stay on MS always. pretty hard you say?
yes it is. but, i am willing to give more then a few times a week session. maybe more. for start i will have to see which players intrested in this. those who want in, or have any qustions, post here or send a PM.

for me the fun is a good story, if you want the leading roll feel free to join.

i hope we all have fun, this is what ALFA all about.

this is a really great idea for keeping player concentrated to a DM rather than a server.

I really think these kinds of approaches are by far the best way to enjoy game in ALFA; more folks should do it if DMs can manage time-wise and can handle some unique challenges of running such sessions.

One caveat, imo it absolutely requires excellent communication between players and DMs and DM and HDM

probably not. but for start i will RP each (if they wont have the same background) player's prologue till the crutail moment the group will meet (if ever, depends on the scene).

i was hoping for more then 1 time week session. but as i learn from history never say never, ppl schedule changes so i will make adjustments.

i am looking to open an IRC chat room to coordinate player bio history common background (if ever) and to start prep for this.

no you cannot. that was never proposed, disucssed or even considered ever.

well....since i found out RL can take the best out of you and make you vanish for a while (5 month i think)
i will change some of my plans about DMing time in MS

let me be clear, i intend to carry on with the campaign where i stopd, the plot will move on with who ever wants in and when ever i can.
so i will be loging more now to DM in MS, feel free to join with what low,high,good,evil toon you got, i will make adjustments on the way.

feeling ready for round two, dont know when RL hit me in the face again so lets have fun while we can!

Dusk, can I borrow your time for like 10 minutes on MS please?

My PC has a back log of 3 items crafted since, i dunno, 5 weeks or longer ago with other PCs hanging in the background wondering as I do about closure in the matter(s), and all I pray for is to get those items, and that you or any DM take away gold and XP from ol' Bu.

Adanu, you mentioned the same before, and I thank you very much for the offer.
Bu has crafting tables on MS and BG.
I was insulted and called a liar when I tried to craft on BG and then asked for the item to be passed to me on "another server".
Not bitter at all! On the contrary, all the confusion and "un-comfortable-ness" of crafting makes me LOL so much it's well worth all the time I spend on it, it's very entertaining to see so many people so up-tight about the whole thing, usually over +1 items, and literally 10 minutes of help requested when the items are done. Wheee it's all good.

So, thanks again, but i'll just have to sit on MS or BG, for a few more weeks, and eventually, maybe it'll work out. Until then, all Bu's customers must also wait patiently. So follow my lead players: ask ONCE. and DON'T ask again for at least 2 weeks no matter how long ago the gear was complete. And then wait 2-3 more weeks. Ask again VERY politely. And most likely wait again a few more weeks, maybe 2 more weeks, and then ask very very politely again. What ever you do, do not complain or think in ANY way you "deserve" anything for any amount of time, gold, XP, or waiting. If you do, you'll be branded a complainer, bitcher, even a badger, and may even get blacklisted subconciously by all the people who post negatively about you on Forums you have no access to, and thus have NO way to defend yourself about, so, end up looking terribly evil when the complete opposite is true.

I also apologize VERY MUCH if several people, as usual, take my post above the completely wrong way... it's just a bit of sarcasm folks, lord knows i've been the target of it more than you, so I don't mind flinging a little bit around every now and then.

I propose the implementation of a "CDM", a "Crafting DM" for ALFA-wide support of crafter------ oh... right. Forget that. Silly idea!
