I need your help!

Post by Hialmar »

Can you test the following page with your navigator and tell me if it works okay ?

http://www.alandfaraway.org/node/2333

It is a first test of forums integration in the website.

The goal would be to remove the banner at the top so that it integrates better and then use the nice forum theme.

Thanks.

Edit: I know it's a little bit too tight for the "CA vintage" theme. The one we will use is similar to subsilver2 (but with different colors obviously).

Scroll bar in the frame rather than the browser in Chrome.

Yes I know but would this be really bad for you ?

This is using an iframe and basically it adds a webpage inside of another webpage
wich is way easier to do than what the buggy module did
(the one with the security issue were some people can read other people PMs).

I see the blue forum embedded into the brown website , it's scrollable and all the links I tried work. Also scrolls both up and down and left and right in the frame rather than resizing to fit the window.

I'm on OS X and using Safari 5.1.2

Took me three attempts to hit submit for the last post. But it seemed to be because other people were posting and "You might want to review your post in light of new posts" or something along those lines.

It is annoying, yes. Is it not possible to resize the frame using some jscript?

Worked for me, just like that (blue stuff within brown stuff), Firefox ESR 10.0.6, I think on Windows XP of some sort. I wasn't bothered by the "page within a page" type scene, scroll bars and all.

Yeah, I like the look. It can just be annoying with the focus issues when scrolling with a mouse on setups like that. Sometimes youll scroll think the frame is going to scroll but the entire page scrolls and vice versa.

I have found some javascript codes for dynamically resizing but so far it's not working.

I'll continue searching.

Careful what you ask for Heero, resizing it to fit will make everything in that window smaller, ie text.

It won't indeed.

I'm still searching on this.
I thought I had found a better solution but I can't manage to make it work...

It works now :)

Can you test it again and tell me if it is acceptable ?
