Re: your PCs themesong
Zalanthe.
It can almost be read as a challenging conversation between a young Zalanthe and Corellon. It served as inspiration to last Novembers NaNoWriMo writing.
So make your siren's call
And sing all you want
I will not hear what you have to say
Cause I need freedom now
And I need to know how
To live my life as it's meant to be

Well, not very familiar with the context (:s) but Mumford & Sons is a great band, cool taste.Swift wrote:Zalanthe.
Ah, more folk music, always cool. Puny also showed me this (among other music) and I was pleasantly surprised in her taste.Rumple C wrote:Wolf

...As for me? Well, for Micha, I suppose it's just some generic emo track in my library. Like this one.
Completely appropriate track name, I know.
...And I guess that leaves my second character, Miss Pirate Wench. Probably something that's really fast and angry, but at the same time melodic.Everything you do is planned out in advance,
The stars push their dark wills down on you.
And wolves all tear themselves apart better in packs,
That's just a function we'll have to work on through,
We are machines that eat and breathe and look really cool,
You're reacting just the way I thought you would,
But I've replaced my heart with metal parts,
And I'm working just fine, but I can't get it to start,
We are machines that breathe and weep and look really good trained to kill,
Send me back in time and I'll bring us back in line,
Just tell me who's mother I have to kill,
I'm fine like I've always been, except I don't remember-when,
My conscience didn't act up again,
We're living on borrowed time,
And it looks like they want it back.
So probably something like this.

Aglaril in more recent days and months:
(change 'Englishman' to 'Sun Elf' and 'New York' to 'Baldur's Gate')
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d27gTrPPAyk
I don't drink whiskey I take Everquisst my dear
I like my lembas done on the side
And you can hear it in my accent when I talk
I'm a Sun Elf in Baldur's Gate
See me walking down the Trade Way
A longsword here at my side
I take it everywhere I walk
I'm a Sun Elf in Baldur's Gate
I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien
I'm a Sun Elf in Baldur's Gate
I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien
I'm a Sun Elf in Baldur's Gate
If "manners maketh man" as someone said
Then he's the hero of the day
It takes a Quessir to suffer ignorance and smile
Be yourself no matter what they say
I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien
I'm a Bladesinger in the 'Gate
I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien
I'm a Bladesinger in the 'Gate
Modesty, propriety can lead to notoriety
You could end up as the only one
Gentleness, sobriety are rare in this society
At night a candle's brighter than the sun
Takes more than combat xp to make a man
Takes more than license for a vorpal blade
Confront your enemies, avoid them when you can
A gentleman will Dimension Door but (seldom) run
If "manners maketh man" as someone said
Then he's the hero of the day
It takes a Quessir to suffer ignorance and smile

I'm not sure anything I know perfectly captures him; it'd probably be a combination of
Miles Davis: 'Jean Pierre'

Sting: 'Children's Crusade'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fG5dVI9 ... re=related
(Replace 'England' in the chorus with 'Corellon' and it might fit)
and
Mike and the Mechanics: 'The Living Years'

Blacke - A blend of three songs...
1) The old man's down the road - John Fogerty -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbSGMRZsN4Q
2) Ain't No Rest for the Wicked - Awol Nation
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKtsdZs9LJo
3) It's Probably Me - Sting
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUYI7kIR0S4
He take the thunder from the mountain
He take the lightning from the sky
He bring the strong man to his bended knee
He make the young girls mama cry
You got to hidey-hide
You got to jump and run
You got to hidey hidey-hide
The old man's down the road
He got the voices speakin' riddles
He got the eye as black as coal
He got a suitcase covered with rattlesnake hide
And he stand right in the road
... But even still I can't say much
Because I know we're all the same,
Oh yes we all seek out to satisfy those thrills.
You know there ain't no rest for the wicked,
Money don't grow on trees,
We got bills to pay
We got mouths to feed
There ain't nothing in this world for free.
Oh no we can't slow down,
We can't hold back
Though you know we wish we could.
Oh no there ain't no rest for the wicked,
Until we close our eyes for good.
If the night turned cold and the stars looked down
And you hug yourself on the cold cold ground
You wake the morning in a stranger's coat
No one would you see
You ask yourself, who'd watch for me
My only friend, who could it be
It's hard to say it
I hate to say it, but it's probably me
When your belly's empty and the hunger's so real
And you're too proud to beg and too dumb to steal
You search the city for your only friend
No one would you see
You ask yourself, who could it be
A solitary voice to speak out and set me free
I hate to say it
I hate to say it, but it's probably me
You're not the easiest person I ever got to know
And it's hard for us both to let our feelings show
Some would say I should let you go your way
You'll only make me cry
If there's one guy, just one guy
Who'd lay down his life for you and die
It's hard to say it
I hate to say it, but it's probably me
When the world's gone crazy and it makes no sense
There's only one voice that comes to your defense
The jury's out and your eyes search the room
And one friendly face is all you need to see
If there's one guy, just one guy
Who'd lay down his life for you and die
It's hard to say it
I hate to say it, but it's probably me
I hate to say it

pragmatic (adj.)
The opposite of idealistic is pragmatic, a word that describes a philosophy of "doing what works best."
From Greek pragma "deed," the word has historically described philosophers and politicians who were
concerned more with real-world application of ideas than with abstract notions. A pragmatic person
is sensible, grounded, and practical.
