Any good ones out there to test out some concepts? I'm playing a class I never tried before and can't decide on a few things.
Much appreciated.

The big problem is it won't include any of the numerous ALFA changes.
Would it be possible to get a one area mod with ALFA haks posted for an FTP download? I *know* I'm going to have to reroll my PC due to the changes in Lore and Perform skills coming, in fact I didn't really take my skill picks seriously since I knew they would be changing. It would be nice to make practice builds with ALFA content before committing to a final build with a live PC.

I don't particularly enjoy mapping out progression ahead of time but with some of the unique Class/Feat/Skill changes players have little choice but to see how things might or might not work in a low/slow levelling PW like ALFA.
And thanks Demson.

I'm not terribly knowledgeable of NWN2 myself and was surprised at some of my feat options at level up. I like what I picked, but I had planned to pick something else originally.
And I now know how the bard class should be altered for ALFA. It needs to have a feat selection every other level like fighter, since there are
many bard feats and unlike in the SP it's unlikely a PC will get to high level.

Why not "abuse" one of the beta servers for this? You can build your character concept while helping to build ALFA. All HAKs and mods should be in place, and a DM could even level you in return for testing some of the more dangerous places.

The only beta server currently hosted, Baldur's Gate, only uses the alfa_acr.hak, and thus far has none of the 2da feat differences, weapon differences, etc that the Live servers have. So- it's no different that rolling up using the NWN2 campaign, or the OAS2.
Of course, none of ALFA's changes show up during character creation anyway...

Hence the need for a one area mod. You can give yourself xp in DebugMode. And take it away, and give it back, and take it away, and give it back...

I just made a copy of the mod linked earlier, added in the ALFA haks with the toolset and called it "Vordan's Hero Creator (ALFA)".

I always use Vordans Hero Creator as mentioned above. I like to test PCs for lvl 2 survivability, because you can ususally get there in a not long amount of time in ALFA, but you may spend a lot of time there. I like RP, but I don't like RP living in fear of wildlife.
I suggest making PC's to lvl2-3, equiping with nonmagical stuff, and fighting 3 orcs in the arena. If your chr can survive, then it's a good build, or you are a good player, or both. Remember to converse for a least half an hour with the NPC merchant to fulfill ALFAs RP requirements though.
If you have the knowledge, you can also add custom items to the merchants via the toolset, and really customise your look and persona. with the gracious assistance of the DM's these items can be imported into the server and applied to your new PC. Make sure to get the naming conventions right.

Did that do the trick? It does seem like an easy solution.

in nwn1, adding the haks without also adding the ACR would result in the killing of some creatures also freezing the game. Might want to test for that, cuz its a PITA to have to reload the mod for every combat trial.
