I'm betting this has been discussed before but I'm wondering what the stance is on incorporating things like eating, drinking, going to the bathroom, etc...
I would like to see it as part of the server. Not something deadly, (i.e. die from not drinking water) but maybe cause a few negatives if not done within a day and a half or so.
Of course, I realize something like this would require much effort and not happen anytime soon, I'm just curious on what is thought of this. Has it ever been tried in another ALFA server?
I can just see it now....
"Gee Torgash, I'd love to come raid the kobold lair with you, but I'm about to have a bowel movement."

Through the many thousands of beatings of this dead horse, it's long since been decided not to incorporate this stuff.

What the big cheese means, of course, is that while it's not scripted, it's highly encouraged.
Hunting, cooking, Eating, drinking, resting, pissing are all parts of RP and should be included in our RP. THat's why we class ourselves as 'hardcore' i would think. Im sure you do anyway
Have fun:)

I RP what I enjoy RPing. And nothing more. Food and beverage and resting and "calls of nature" are not interesting or enjoyable to me, so i dont RP them. Much like i dont cyber if a character of mine is gettin busy. I dont want to RP that aspect of the character's life so I dont.
This is why we dont require it via scripts.

Acquired item: Feces
Probably worth 1gp to the right merchant.
...
But seriously, yeah, hunger and thirst systems are unlikely to ever be a "go."
By the same token, I'd encourage even in a "silverpiece free economy", that a LOT of food and drink be available for a gold piece. Pet peeve of mine in NWN1 I guess, when you see "Gourmet Meals" for 6gp, lot of beers at 2-5gp. By PHB/DMG pricing, that should buy like, a couple of live pigs and probably a few pony kegs of ale... basically enough to feed and water a couple dozen hungry and thirsty people. Sure, it's okay to rip off adventurers, or charge them through the nose if it's some hoity-toity establishment (social club for landed gentry or something), but in general, cheap is good.

If we had copper and silver pieces pricing at low levels would be alot more sophisticated. As it is, gimme gold!

Whilst implementing silver peices per se could be too much hassle, could we set up a silver economy by giving players a un-dropable item that tracks their spending on things deemed to be priced less thatn 1 gp, and that accumulates the amounts and subtracts a gp whenever they have spent the equivalent?
I could see it being used in conversation scripts rather than in shops, to pay for drinks, meals etc.
Just a thought, if we want to go that route.

I thank the wise people who left out the food and drink requirement.
Praises be!

Anyhow, I still think it would be a good idea. Would really prevent PGing and open a lot of RP opportunities.
I didn't just say that. *waves Jedi hand*
