Level 2

Post by Mikayla »

After somewhere between 15 and 20 hours of gaming today, I've hit level 2. Am I the first?

**knock on wood**

I don't want to jinx myself, but hey, I thought I would shout it out.

*knocks on wood furiously again*

Here is hoping to see level 3 and not the morgue.

It appears you were second, by about an hour- the first level 2 character was played by Munmun, who co-incidentally was the first login when the server went Live almost 20 hours ago (about 2 seconds after I opened the password).

We should probably stop playing the "firsts" game though, now that we've had our first 2 deaths (Rhavas, and Pyleos), our first two 2nd level characters, etc. Don't want to encourage an OOC competition to "keep up with the Joneses (Lucases)".

In only 20 hours or so of Live, we've had 55 members logging in to the server with characters- 4 have been DMs, but that's still more than 50 total, an excellent showing. 68 PCs have been rolled up on these shores as well, though some have already met with unfortunate ends.

It's a great start, and I'm proud to be a part of it.

I take it if you don't relog occasionally, you lose all your incremental RP xp if the server crashes?

And yes, level 2 in one day is PG'ing. :P

Felt like two days to me... I was up for the launch and then went to bed. When I woke up about 9 hours later I hopped back on!

Very nice how the launch coincided with my day off.

Yes, I got a "wife and kid out of town for two days" for launch. Very nice, even though I had work to do until 5pm.

Of course, then the server crashed.

Drat! Foiled again. Always second best. Oh well, its still a great start. I played from the Live start moment for 4 or 5 hours, took a 4 hour nap, then played for the rest of the day (minus 2 hours for doing my taxes). Great fun.

Actually, every hour or so, it backs up your RP XP to the database, so you'll never be cheated out of more than 15 RP XP by a crash.

It's slow, but beats getting nothing for a session. Hopefully the offline resting scripts help you enjoy the playtimes you can make, without having to hunt for rest areas and such.

I think we're going to learn from our mistakes. 20 hours to avhieve Lv1 sounds great, and I've seenMikayla roleplay now. It's not some passive passing of the time. It's a juggernaut. The banites had me in complete awe.

There isn't that much xp on the server beyond Lv3 or 4 I imagine, so there's no stress. And from what I gather from Rusty, AL and cipher, reviewing how experience is gained is far less onerous than it used to be. So hopefully we never need to enter the realm of interrogation.

Well done Mikayla. I'm very happy for you. Having seen you at last, you earn your xp in a way I haven't seen since Coby, and that guy changed my very understanding of the nature of roleplay.

Well, I managed to make it to level 2 in my first day of binge playing as well, and I have to say I love getting out of the level 1 doldrums stat!

It's a nice server too. :D
