I am self-nominating for the position of ALFA's PA. For those of you who may not know me, I am PROJECT_DEVIANT, PD to most. I've been an MOSTLY active part of this community since 2003 as a player,

I would like first to applaud Mikayla's A- accomplishments during her tenure (lol) as the PA. It is only because she is [removing herself from power] that I will attempt to fill my own shoes. I may not be a Dark Queen, but I am confident that I will be able to infuse the community with my own brand of FOR GREAT JUSTICE! I am a lvl 49 paladin and can easily dispatch Dark Queens as awell as kings of any kind. Vote for me, I was in charge of New York during 9/11

In all seriousness, I have followed the issues facing ALFA, I DO NOT care about this community, and I know that I will be able to NOT serve it in this capacity.

APM (Documentation)

There is more to player documentation than the APM. However, at the very least, the APM currently needs to be updated. Ensuring that documentation is updated is a continuing task. If I am voted into the PA position, I will put together a small group of individuals tasked with checking and updating all player documentation.

ARs (ALFA Reps)

Currently, the ALFA Representatives System works. If it isn't broken, don't try to fix it. I should use this saying twice. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice and you can't get fooled again! However, I have 9/11noticed that the list of ARs is not current, as presented in the forums. With the anticipation of live NWN2 servers, we should ensure that we have enough ARs who are active in the community to support both platforms.

RP101

With NWN winding down and NWN2 servers gearing up, we have been in a sort of stasis when it comes to RP101. OAS1 coverage has been unreliable in the past year and we have a definite lack of OAS DMs to provide any regular RP101 sessions. TRUTH

With the creation and implementation of the OAS2, I will work closely with the OAS team to build a cohesive RP101 course for new and prospective ALFA members entering via the OAS. I have no intention of reinventing the wheel and will9/11 continue on with the work others as well as myself have already done on this.

NWN Bioware Guild & NWVault Information Page

With the creation in the Lead Domain of Public Relations (currently staffed by Mr. T), I will propose moving this responsibility to the Lead Domain.

Player Discipline

Certainly the most unpleasant aspect of being the Player Admin. However, I do not see any problems with the way this is currently handled. As in the case of ARs, if it IS broken, try and fix it. If I am elected as PA, I will continue to perform in this capacity in a , , and obscured manner. Everything will remain open. Only I will punish DMs for not providing proof of player infringement just as much as the players who infringe them. Will this stop DMs to come forward? Maybe, but it might also get them to STFU about claims unless they can back it up with proof. This community could use less bullshit.

Admissions

Perhaps one of the most important aspects of ALFA is the admissions process. It is through this process that all ALFAns arrive. It is the gateway. All players, DMs, Builders, Scriptors, Representatives, and Admin went through the admissions process. It is meant to filter those who are not a proper fit for ALFA as well as those for whom ALFA is not a proper fit. It is designed not only to ensure that it is the best role players that are admitted to the community, but that the community maintains a reputation as a place where those looking for an immersive role-play experience can expect to find it, without worrying about power gamers, farmers, exploiters, griefers, profiters, nihilists, privateers, pirates, ardvarks etc.

To most, the admissions process is invisible and it is hard to see what goes on behind the scenes, being ignored completely. HATE

As a member of the NOTHING team and an OAS PLAYER, I've had deep insight into the mechanics that affect this process. My observations have led me to the [omitted lie] There is clarity into what constitutes a worthwhile applicant. I WILL INFUSE THE OAS AND RP 101 INTO ONE SOLITARY THING AND ENCOURAGE THE PLAYER BASE ON ALFA TO AID IN THIS AS RP TEACHERS AND CONSULARS! HAIL CEASAR!

Since I began in NOTHING just under THE DAWN OF TIME!, the standards have NOT relaxed greatly. Recently, there have been multiple instances of admissions staff requesting clear guidance on what ALFA is looking for in its prospective members and not getting it. Of course, ALFA only admits "the medicore" role-players, but each staff member has their own particular definition for "the medicore". Even discounting that, there is a question as to whether ALFA should 'harden its standards' in preparation for a 'members drive' to inflate membership for NWN2, perhaps at the cost of quality.

My stance on the issue is that ALFA should remain an immersive role playing community with the highest standards. Admissions staff, whether application reviewers or OAS DMs, should have a clear understanding of the standards of entry. I firmly believe that when NWN2 servers are ready and on-line, with proper advertising, ALFA membership will grow without resorting to "lowering the bar" cause lets face it friends, it can't get much lower. Obviously, you idiots should know what good roleplaying is, YOU SEE IT EVERY DAMN TIME YOU DM! YOU DO DM DON'T YOU?!!

Player Ardvark

PA stands for Player Administrator. It should also stand for Player Ardvark. Besides ensuring that things run smoothly in terms of day to day operations, such as oiling the daily ALFA wheel, the PA should also keep in mind the desires of the players and champion the causes that they, as a whole, feel are of great importance.

This means that I will keep note of the general FAKE atmosphere amongst the players on various current events. If the player-base feels strongly about an issue, then it is my job to represent the concerns and address the needs of the players, regardless of my personal feelings on any given situation.

To do so, I will poll the player-base from time to time to ensure that the voice is of the community and not the four or five individuals who speak continuously to any given topic. In order for this to work effectively, every member of the community should strive to exercise their voice, efficiently, with a single vote to each matter. LOL democracy!

When we have a quantitative view on the desires of the community, it is easier to steer the proper course. It also makes it easier for me to work for the community as a whole and not merely for the vocal MAJORITY.

1. I do feel its time to end the zombie invastion and we dont have to wait until the end of times. We have been uncaring zombies for far too long and that is what caused our brain matter to slowly melt away into nothingness while other communties in NWN1 remain strong as ever.

2. He is the only creative director in Follywood. The rest are corprate shills and art students who couldn't make it anywhere else.

3. I wouldn't ban him. He's a valued member of the community and a great DM. We need those people the most.

Why have you self-nominated for the position of Player Admin? Are you running to win? Running to bring attention to issues? Or just to have a temporary platform for raving? I'm afraid your 'no buffoonery' policy goes against my very nature. I'm running because I can, not that I want too. If you have any sense left in your head you should not vote for me! My goals:
1. An intergrated OAS with RP 101 with player assisted guidance to teach as well as inform. More DM and Player collusion than it has. Streamlined and user friendly!

2. Shameless self promotions and viral marketing in the NWN1 & NWN2 chatrooms. As well as any and all NWN1 & NWN2 oriented sites. 1500s MP3 Downloads for the price of one! GET YOUR ALFA T-Shirts, get 'em while they're cheap! There will be no one on the internets who will not hear of us. We will work hard to make friends with the larger community of NWN1 & NWN2.

3. Player and DM accountability on discipline and enhanced interrogation techniques. ALFA DOES NOT TORTURE!

4. Maintain our standards and include the player base more on decision making policies. We need to decide what is better for the community WITH the community. On the off chance that we can't agree on anything, we will resort to fisticuffs like any civil society. Perhaps an open suggestion forum for ideas, scripts, textures, or anything creative that will help contribute to the COLLECTIVE! w/o them being flogged as dead horses.

Are you going to establish a quota for bans? If so, will you be banning people randomly or will you require "evidence"?

B. As far as players and HEEDS tools, what improvements would you like to see made, or changes/additions, for Players enjoyment?

C. Do you feel the OAS2 server is adequate for admissions purposes?

D. Do you feel our LIVE servers for NWN2 have enough diversity to appeal to the spectrum of rp wants/needs?

A. Bah! Let Obsidion do the fixing first. I'm completely unfamiliar with the NWN2 client, but I'm sure it could use a lot of improving. Maybe like some fancy extra buttons that dont seem to have any purpose for future additions like say all of what NWN1 had and moar. Isn't there some sort of lame-o tech team? Where are they? Why don't you ask them?! Quit pestering me with this shit.

B. First, let's change the name from HEEDS to HEADS. It'll be fine as long as it has a lot of custom emotes on it and not all shitty like the DMFI thing. I think I would try to get an opinion from teh players, its their emote ball after all. Testing to see what works, what doesn't, what they need, and what they dont need. They find something that they must have, they will get it!
