So, after months without even peeking in I decided to come back by and see the progress.

Im looking at no new information on the NWN2 servers, no ETAs on a date of arrival still. Im looking through the forums and noticing that many of the upgrades that came with NWN2 are being downgraded back to NWN1 styles. And the exclusion on PC races that are built into the game.

I'd have loved to come back and play NWN2 with you all again, but it looks like itll be a few years and therell be better games out before you even have it ready to start. And you've managed to cut off my concept I had saved for NWN2 by disallowing the Planetouched.

Seriously, forums locked? No roleplay or info on the servers? This place looks exactly like it did months and months ago, except with less servers and less players. This place looks less and less interesting as time goes on. It's about time to pick up the slack, get your hands dirty and make this place fun again.

It's a game people, step back, have some fun.

god forbid if someone speaks something that you guys dont like. You can censor stuff all you want, but folks still have their opinons of ALFA and its not always rosey. Instead of giving him shit listen to what he says. There are a lot of people running around ALFA with blinders on.

Danubus, I have no worries listening to people pointing out the faults in ALFA. I know I do so myself enough. However, what I don't really have time for is people who are constantly negative, pointing out faults here and there and everywhere while doing shit all to help.

I did plenty to help in the past, I put a lot of time and energy into this place in the past.

I got turned away, turned down, and dismissed over and over for my age or for being relatively new. Anything new or innovative was met with the flaming wrath of the pig-dragon, things like ALFA 025 - Halruaa. I bled, sweat, and dreamed ALFA for two solid years. And finally I decided it wasn't worth trying anymore. I wasn't getting as much back as I was putting in. So I went to playing. Then servers and players started dropping off the map, then work moved to NWN2 and the DMs dissappeared to that. And now, a year and a half later, I'm staring at empty space. There's not many new stories in the library, the RP section of the forum is almost empty. The server forums are dead.

I'd love to be positive about this place, I want to be. Theres just nothing I'm reading on this site that is getting me excited, or hyped, or anything at all. I'm hoping that the next time I swing by, that will have changed. I'm not insulting you, I'm challenging you to blow my mind and inspire me.

No you dont want this project taking any flak. You will censor the person doing it or the post. Maybe if a person is being negative he has a damn good reason to be. Like I said, some folks here walk around with blinders on. There are some folks who volunteered to help but only got resistance by not only Dms but other staff here or Admin. Its always fun trying to help the project out when you have builders/dms sending you tells telling you you suck because your not building and your contributions your doing arent enough in their eyes. That person is still running around here after all hes recently said and done and you all still think hes wonderful.

The fact is ALFA drives people away. The folks here are hostile to newcomers for the most part but not as bad as they use to be. A lot of the old heads here dont listen to anything anyone says. The Rose colored glasses your wearing may need to be cleaned once in awhile.

ALFA is at the lowest Ive ever seen. Its at a point where it has no real direction. Of course things are slow because of building and limitations that came with the game. That cant be helped. It is true, though, that almost everything new thats brought out like the recent planetouched issue is shot down or scrutinized to death where another project would take a hard look at the project and at least give it a shot before outright dismissing it. If it didnt work out then chalk it up to an experience. At least you gave it a go. If it didnt work out then no harm no foul. Ive heard the only reason some voted against it was because they didnt have enough information about the planetouched races. You are DMs in ALFA arent you? I would suspect most Dms that DM here would know or know how to get the information on Planetouched from either the FRCS or other FR sourceboks or be able to find the information on the net if need be. If you dont then as I said before thats just being lazy. One thing as a DM for me is I always made sure I had all the information I could about my server including the races, politics, organizations etc. To me thats good Dming. Thats being prepared.

After all the flak I still get from people I still want this place to suceed. It doesnt mean I wont shake my head or speak my mind if I feel something is wrong. You say you dont want folks who are negative, but you dont want folks who sometimes speak the truth or screw up your little idea of how this place should be. Your happy in your little view of how ALFA should be ran thats why you jump on those that bring up ALFAs faults. Discussing the faults and trying to get people to work on them is the only way that they can be eliminated. Maybe some like myself could sugarcoat it better for you so it doesnt seem like we're being antagonistic, but Im a blunt person and I dont have time to pucker up when I could just say it outright.

Jayde wasnt it you just a week or so ago was asking me to come back and run the PR thing? (few weeks ago). Yet, here I am saying something you dont like and your asking me why Im still here. You give me grief because I play WoW and still want to play here yet you have one of your best HDMs plays the game(WoW) and he designs some of the best servers you have ever had yet I dont see you talking smack about him. Playing another game doesnt mean I dont know how to RP or whats good or not good for ALFA. I know the distintions and also the fact that I dont just play in one game or gaming project helps me say with some degree of experience what might actually work or not work as far as trying new things. Experience is the spice of life and when you dont try and experience new things then you become stagnate and thats what some of you have become and whats sometimes bringing this project down.

It would be great to see ALFA succeed. Rotku you may think im a big naysayer or anyone else may think that, but its not true. Just because someone like myself or Amar brings up faults doesnt mean we dont want the place to succeed, but you need to realize that when other folks say something is wrong or that something could be improved its not us saying these things because we are dissing the project its because we want you to fix these things and bring our interests back and also make this place interesting for new players and EX-ALfans who would consider coming back if someone would finally just get a clue and truly listen and try to improve this place. Running people out of ALFA just because they dont tout the company line is getting really old. I mean ALFA has always been a Niche community but that doesnt mean you stay close minded.

Instead of censoring my post or deleting it. Let it stand. Discuss it and dont flame. Your not always going to like what a person has to say but at least you could be men and women enough to get past your own views and listen to others even though you dont agree with them. Amar hasnt been here in awhile and he gave you an assessment of someone whos looking from the outside looking in. Im sure its close to a fair assessment of how new players will look upon us or old ALFAns who are checking in from time to time and weighing if its worth it to come back.
