Could put realms holidays in calander. Like green grass. Or tymoras holy birthday, whatever.
12.August.2015: Never forget.
Re: A Land Far Away's Website, 2015
And calander will show the correct times/dates depending on user? Maybe a countdown clock until major events? Like xans super dungeon and so forth.

Yes. So if I'm OrangeTree making an event, I'd put the event in my time on the calendar, and it automatically shows to the user on their time.Rumple C wrote:And calander will show the correct times/dates depending on user? No countdown other than the "upcoming events" screenshot I showed. I'll look into it down the line.

Work is continuing. I have some admin pages set up, and the online player list is working.

Theme choice. Background needs to be blurred. But as-is it looks like the general theme will be like that. A (less sharp, less intrusive) background is available. Probably 4 different options for each server. Something like BG, Sharp Teeth, Nashkel, and Ruqel for Baldur's Gate, some islands for MS, etc. Ideally all based on in-game screenshots. They need to be darker, less saturated, and more blurry to not look terrible.
Anyway. Progress update. Work is still happening.

The calendar feature alone sold me.
Also, administering the website is leaps and bounds more intuitive than administering the PHPBB3 forums.
The cost was well-worth it.

as requested, reposting from another thread ...
My eyes glazed over... wow.
Foam, and anyone else who is programing the website interfaces... Can we have our voting system updated to show who is running, click our vote, confirm, and get a confirmation page or alfamail with confirmation that a vote was cast, and for whom? Leave the voting tally blind until the voting is ended, and let people vote how they think or feel, and not worry if they are swinging a vote or changing an outcome. Can we? Honestly, I think it would reduce what I'm seeing here, and allow a less confrontational experience.
Thank you for your time.

So long as the forums use the majority of screen space I will be happy. I recall zicada not being entirely happy about providing a link to the non-embedded forums after I and others vocally complained about the embedded forums only using about 25% of the screen while the rest of it was useless black.

It's fully usable. There's a sidebar that displays upcoming calendar events and the like, but when you're in one part of the website the focus is entirely on that application.Swift wrote:So long as the forums use the majority of screen space I will be happy. We have the advantage of using one software suite going forward, so there's no need to embed anything into anything else. Other than IRC, but that's just a dedicated page that gives a web-based IRC client.

The new forums will be much more friendly toward mobile devices than the current forums are.

Any update foam?
If we had suggestions for restructuring/cleaning sections of the forums (in my case related to welcoming new players) should we continue to wait or make them to you now?
