Tech plus SSM were planning on gathering on Thursdays. We're still hammering out the details, and there's no DM, but those would probably be Aglaril's peers by the existing scope of ALFA (plus the Sharess wizard, who we will carefully craft into a peer).
Sounds like it could be fun. On BG I presume? Maybe this could serve notice to other higher lvls to hop in.
Still, it sounds like a low lvl alt might be a good option to consider at some point, hopefully for a campaignish type thing.
I wonder if a bunch of high lvls traded in half dozen lvls or so EACH (on a curve/averaged out so everyone ends up close to each other's lvls) a DM might want to bite.

I've been interested in continuing my WHL campaign for lowbie-midbies for a while, and recently received word of enough interest from players to try it. High level characters have no DM atm since stephen left. As it is, I'm not deleveling Zyrus for any campaigns.

I admit I stopped implementing and documenting the result of the Vilquari campaign, because I did not think anyone was still playing ALFA as a PW. Damn you all for coming back and creating more work for me

I have not played on ALFA for some time. Every time I check there is no one or just 1 or 2 people logged on. Heegz if you have room I would be interested in your campaign. Are you looking for PCs on the law side or the chaos side? PM me please.

So there were almost a dozen players logged on to BG last night, all RPing PW style. It was really, really nice.
Amid all the discussion of new platforms and whatnot I have often thought that if our members just logged in more to play we would be just fine.
Lets all give ourselves a big holiday gift. Everyone reading this log in with an old favorite or roll up a new PC (or dust off that DM wand!) and get ALFA going again for the holidays and beyond.
We should probably be pretty clear that even the quickest timetables for a new platform is in 2016, and no current admin wants to shut down NWN2 if it arrives. And with what we currently know, it's all still a big fat "if;" the most-promising thing we've seen is pre-alpha, and most pre-alpha projects fail before release, especially on first-time publishers.
So, yes, we need to make NWN2 last if we want to rely on it for entertainment. Could probably use someone doing player retention work (following up with folk who've recently stopped playing and see if the reason isn't solvable) toward that end.
I won't support jettisoning any platform players are using. We learned that lesson with nwn1/nwn2....
There are still live populated nwn1 PW's out there. So shards etc. just represent more options to me, and options I fully support we expand into. I vote for using whatever platform the existing and prospective player bases own and use. So a project like shards is exciting because it is run by RPers...if they get a good base of players those are the people we want.

Zyrus was logged in because I have reason to log in with him again. He actually has a DM interested in furthering his goals.
Hopefully it remains.

Who is this mystery DM?
pragmatic (adj.)
The opposite of idealistic is pragmatic, a word that describes a philosophy of "doing what works best."
From Greek pragma "deed," the word has historically described philosophers and politicians who were
concerned more with real-world application of ideas than with abstract notions. A pragmatic person
is sensible, grounded, and practical.
