That would make people think twice about relying on a bleeding cap to stop themselves from dying, because landing at -8 or -9 would be a near death sentence, without dramatically lifting the lethality levels or watching low level characters randomly explode because someone looked at them funny.

I like the ideas flowing. I'd support something along these lines, but at the end of the day these decisions don't get rubber stamped by the lead. It needs to go through a process which is ultimately ends in the domain of the DMA. The same with just about all changes. I don't want to give anyone false expectations. All I can say is that I support a fresh look at all aspects of ALFA by engaging its population in (civil) discussion, and making changes where appropriate.

If you could achieve one tangible thing over the next six months, what would that be?

Matching DM's up with player groups/regular sessions. That will be first on my wish list.

Awesome. I hear Regas, the Player Admin, is looking for a staff member to take up the Player Group mantel :P

The questions:

What are you doing you nutter?

Will you make veilan retire sylvaine?

You do realise all the instructions will be written in german now?

The comments:
I support that you're willing to re-examine the basis for ALFA (eg one PC) EXCEPT the hardcoreness (eg permadeatha dn even making it more deathy). I think it is is the lethality and hardcoreness of ALFA peple like more than secondary things such as one PC.

I think you'll make a fine LA. I say this as, although it is difficult for me as in Australia we generally indicate our support someone by insulting their intelligence and often physical appearance as much as possible...i thought i would for the others reading this thread.

I'm thoroughly impressed by the first post, both the platform content and presentation/context.

The pix of the kids didn't hurt either. Rumple for Lead might bring me back into the game someday after RL settles down some... and yes, that is a threat.

Any and all efforts to encourage synergistic DM/player hookups will be a huge boon for ALFA; I've recently been thinking that a majority of all project participants' (admins, dm's, players) energy should be directed towards fresh, inspirational and energizing approaches to making DMing in ALFA attractive and as rewarding as (if not more so than) running a player character (rewarding in far more meaningful ways than free xp/loot for DM's PC's - horribly wrong approach).

I'd love to see you help bring back the days this place crawled with storytelling DM's who were legends that were greatly loved, respected, and feared for all the right reasons (most of them anyway) - that should be a powerful motivator for people to want to DM in ALFA btw, having people truly enjoying and appreciating what you're bringing to the table of intense, immersive, engaging collective storytelling ("Wow, another INTENSE session by Viigas today..." "Ronan murdered my PC and it was EPIC" "Twisted made my PC cry today, I hate him!" "Damn OGR made us wait a month to finish this plot but it was SO worth it!" etc). Loot and xp is nice, but it's all dust in the wind without the story - that's ALFA.

So practically, what are some concrete things you'd try to push for in that vein?

As it is in New Zealand. Since we are speaking in "standard english" for the benefit of everyone else, thanks Dorn, it is friends like you who keep me in ALFA.

For the record - They aren't mine. From my (younger) brothers.

I'll start a discussion with Ragas and Curm about setting up the right system for doing this... and then do it. Regas has done a great job allready of organising the player groups, I imagine it will just be building off of that. One the hard work of getting people matched up is done, it just needs to be monitored to make sure that as people shift around that no one gets left behind.

If you can manage to get back mirabai and jayde, I'd love you forever. They had their quirks, but they could run a decent campaign.
First Character: Zyrus Meynolt, the serene Water Genasi berserker. "I am the embodiment of the oceans; serene until you summon the storm." Zyrus: http://tinyurl.com/9emdbnd

Second Character: Damien Collins, the atypical druid. "What? Being a stick in the mud is boring. No pun intended grins"

We have many many fantastic DMs, hopefully all we need is a little organistation to see great returns. It should also make ALFA more attractive for folks to come back. Returning DMs are great but either way I hope you will find what you are looking for within ALFA.
