Just to comfirm, the OAS does not require any haks or overrides. The guide to NWN2-ALFA connection problems I posted above is applicable to the Beta servers (which do use haks) as well as the OAS. If anyone gets a "missing hak" error on the OAS, then we'll really know things are gone strange.

The pwc file is large (89.6 MB compressed) so it may be prone to corruption during download- sorry to hear it took 5 tries though. Perhaps with the next update Teric finishes that affects the walkmesh, we can see about putting the pwc on the vault (though that's advertising in a way, may want to have the OAS accesible to nonmembers if we're going to try that- so maybe after more beta testing gets done).

Any thought to using WorldGate for the OAS2 PWC updates, AL? I've had pretty good luck using it with Indio's updates on TSF Beta server. Click a button, updates downloaded, unzipped to the right folders, done.

I expect they'll move to some kind of automatic download as things move along- for time being it's just an initial test hosting, so it's not seeing any pwc changes.

It looks like the database is having problems once again. I keep getting "You have been booted." every time I attempt to connect.

I've reset the server, looks like it's connected to the DB again, if you'd like to try again.

We're learning as we go here- seems like sometimes the server needs to restart in order to get the DB back in some cases.

Had no problem getting on and running around a bit... er, which leads me to my question, how do you walk in NWN2?

Everything looked really nice, hopefully I'll have some time to really explore tomorrow.

Shift-click will set your character walking, otherwise you can try turning on "tracking mode" to slow your PC down to a walk. Stealth mode will also do it, though if you've got ranks in hide/move silently, it could be a bit odd.

tracking mode is probably the best of all of them

also, using wasd to move tends to work crappily
People talk of bestial cruelty, but that's a great injustice and insult to the beasts; a beast can never be so cruel as man, so artistically cruel.

Only downside of tracking is the constant script of "You search the nearby area for traps" that runs every 5 seconds............ :(

That's not tracking. That's search.

Teric's fixes are up, plus some of my ACR ones. PWC has changed, can be dowloaded from the same place (in 15 min from this posting)
