During the Orc war event on TSM, our party was on the frozen ice fall near a cave full of nasty undead and orcs. Maeredhel cast a Fireball as he ell down from the cliff face onto the ice below. Marcus Wands slowed his fall with a Web and then Talindra caught Maeredhel, knocking her out. Talindra and Maeredhel both almost died as they slipped into the icy waters after breaking through the ice, but Itildur grabbed them and Aislinn Dimension Doored us all to relative safety.

It was a rather epic scene.

Will you be doing anything to increase our visibility (or, if not, is there something you're counting on doing that for us?)
I would like to work with the IA on search engine optimization and coordinating a new design for our web pages. I'm not as technically inclined, but I do have some ideas on how to make it more attractive looking. I would like to increase our social media presence, and so I would like to bring in a couple of dedicated LA staff to help with that. These aren't my strengths, so this is something I would like to delegate, if possible. I have some ideas, but I personally dislike social media.

I will also be doing a series of screenshots of the BG server to add many of our iconic areas to the wiki. That leads me to motivating other servers to do the same. I believe that ALFA can benefit from some in-house PR and I wish to encourage our volunteer builders to branch out and our HDMs to embrace new content or polish existing content. All four of our active servers need some polishing, some more so than others.

Please explain your leadership qualities that define you?
What are you offering Alfa of yourself?
How will you prioritize your duties as HDM and your work for the tech team?

Should leave shad0wfax to answer most of that, but there's a question in here which assumes actions from me which I have not taken.

To be clear: shad0wfax is not on the tech team. He's done a lot of good work on Baldur's Gate and DM-owned common resources, but not on the ACR. I hope it's no offense to say that he's just not learned how to work on that sort of thing; module maintenance is a handful without also trying to learn programming languages and such. The tech team consists of me, FoamBats, and Basilica.

Zelknolf is correct. I am not a part of the tech team. Apart from hanging out in #alfa-tech and trying to learn as much as I can, and doing some bug reporting related to ACR (which any dm could do) I've not been involved in ACR at all, nor do I have the skills to do so at this point.

I learned just about everything that I know in the toolset from the IA, much of it done by teaching me over skype with screen sharing. I've learned nwn2toolset and GIT (GUI only), to a degree of solid proficiency. I've learned how to adequately maintain the ADL and BGs vault connection as they relate to BG only, and I'm a cripple in the SQL and #sars functions, relying on cheat sheets to be competent.

What I'm offering ALFA is my willingness to volunteer, to learn, and to create at the player, builder, DM, HDM, and LA level. Each of those distinct roles has a different skill set that I believe I'm well-suited for, with only the last role lacking any example.

My leadership experience encompasses collegiate academic leadership, military leadership, government project management, and volunteer organization leadership outside of nwn2.

To prioritize roles between HDM and LA, I believe that much of the publicity aspect of LA can be handled with little additional effort beyond what I am doing as an HDM, and I feel that I can showcase BG as a growing, active, and frequently updated server fairly easily. If anything, being HDM makes doing LA publicity easier.

There are some responsibilities unique to the LA position and I do not foresee a huge amount of effort or time being spent on LA appeals, LA vetoes, LA charter proposals, or LA rules proposals. In fact, I believe that if the other Admin positions are all doing their jobs well, as a cohesive team, that the role of the LA is fairly basic and that the LA provides only as much direction as needed to keep ALFA (and ALFA Admin) focused, and no more; in short, a light hand at the reins is best.
