I'm in. My Pally does not use a shield usually but I still consider him a tank. Especially since he is immune to fear. Even of Ronan.Ronan wrote:Good news everyone! My campaign has two "openings". Sessions are 8pm Eastern on Sundays, with a lot of minor RP happening during the week. The party is currently level 5-8 (but the 8th is a monk), so while a low-level is possible it'd be nice to have mid-level PCs. I'd probably set a cap at level 9 or so, unless you're willing to let me reduce your PC's power.
We need tanks. Glass canons need not apply. OGR's paladin has dibs if he wants a spot, though I'm not sure how tanky he is.
We are currently on TSM and the campaign will probably not leave that server. I don't mind if you're already playing with other DMs, such as HEEGZ's KD stuff.
But a word of warning which is not implicit in my murderous reputation: the plot is old at this point, and complex. There are nearly 800 posts in our forums. It may not matter as much for a late-arriver, but don't expect to know WTF is going on if you only show up on Sundays and don't keep up on the forums.
Applicants must be willing to let me do horrible things to their PC for my own fickle and sadistic amusement.

I thought epic feats were banned in ALFA!oldgrayrogue wrote:Especially since he is immune to fear. Even of Ronan.

When does these games take place? Would Jax be too high level? I mean, she's also level 8, but she's played by me, so I guess it's even worse than being a monk

pragmatic (adj.)
The opposite of idealistic is pragmatic, a word that describes a philosophy of "doing what works best."
From Greek pragma "deed," the word has historically described philosophers and politicians who were
concerned more with real-world application of ideas than with abstract notions. A pragmatic person
is sensible, grounded, and practical.

Jax is fine, as long as you're ok with me removing her brain and replacing it with a semi-sentient pudding.

Current Characters: Ravik Ports

So far we have had OGR, Mick, Boom and SCI-kick show interest. Better than I thought given the criteria. I am struggling to think on how OGR's PC would fit in given the general "greyness" of the campaign, and SCI-kick and Boom are both currently "maybes".

I'm struggling with responsibility VS ALFARonan wrote:and SCI-kick and Boom are both currently "maybes".

The time is good for me as is the level range - is this just for Elf PCs or any PCs in the right level range with availability in the timeslot? If open to humans, I'd be interested in bringing Layla/Aliyah along - no idea what the campaign is about, but finding out is half the fun. If its not a good fit, no worries.

We do not need elves or humans or any other particuar race....it is not an elf game or a dorf game etc....
Current Characters: Ravik Ports
Re: Ronan's vilquari campaign, Sundays at 8pm eastern
While Aliyah would get along swimmingly with Aseel, she would be yet another skirmisher/scout. I don't think it makes sense for the party to recruit another of those, though of course that would be up to them. As mentioned, what they really lack is tanks, because dorfdeaths.Mikayla wrote:The time is good for me as is the level range - is this just for Elf PCs or any PCs in the right level range with availability in the timeslot? There will not be a full session this Sunday as I will be out of town. I will get on later though. Anyone who wants in the campaign, please show up and we'll see what happens.
