Castano wrote:well I'll support it. Please submit outlines for anything you wish to write about MS and I will help edit them to remove any horrid meta. You can then feel free to interview the necessary participants, get their version of events and write. I will help edit your final draft to add narrative perspective. Subjects can include:

(1) The Vampire/Lich denizens of Castle of Skulls who have featured prominently in the background of the MS server
(2) The fey attempt to rebuild the kingdom of Sarifal
(3) The Broken Ring Thief's Guild
(4) The Amnish occupation of Snowdown Isle and their encroachment into southern Alaron
(5) The deep gnome refugee settlement under Jotunspine Isle
(6) The beast lord's attempt to retake MS

Appropriate background for most of this is found in the darkwalker series. Basically we can write a sequel to the series in the form of some short narratives.

I'm not sure why we need Admin to approve every single thing done here - that's one way to kill any community - to micromanage decisions at the brand of toilet paper we buy level. If you want to write, write. I will at least use it.
This is less about permission and more about access to relevant data to make a narrative.

I am hoping that this (and other legacy ideas) can find new life after the next election.

I'll get you started on the Lich lord:

1. Rumored to the the undead version of a long dead Ffolk King, the Lich inhabiting the Castle of Skulls has proven to be a most worrisome adversary. He has recently become more active, in the past year mounting an assault of zombies and vampires on Cantrev Koart, then taking advantage of the recent war to swell his ranks with corpses of the fallen, all taken to his laboratory in the old keep at Macsheehan ruins, under the very noses of the Kelemvorite mission that guards the burial mounds.

Less data then we think you have, and yet you have this, which is more data than I had.

The HDMs also nodded approval to the contents of the loading screens
(FR_his_com_*.tga here https://github.com/ALandFarAway/ALFA-Ba ... fa2_pr.hak) when they were drafted. Some of the points are just general FR stuff, but when I held them down and demanded to know about major events happening in our canon since 2008/04/15 (btw, ALFA2's turning five in like... two weeks), I got those bullet points. Could be a place to start interrogating.

the point is, pick a topic and get a post going, we can help fill the details in for you. This is a collaborative effort. Saying I don't have the data and not asking the people with the data for the data is silly. Just ask!!!!!

*bump*
pragmatic (adj.)
The opposite of idealistic is pragmatic, a word that describes a philosophy of "doing what works best."
From Greek pragma "deed," the word has historically described philosophers and politicians who were
concerned more with real-world application of ideas than with abstract notions. A pragmatic person
is sensible, grounded, and practical.

That's what I get for never reading the library unless directed to it. O_O
