Adanu, DM Mentor available for new DM training

Post by Adanu »

If you're interested in DMing, but haven't the slightest idea how to manage the interface or do stuff and would like some help with this, please send me a PM or reply here. Castano has given me leave to do this on WHL as a 'head Mentor' and teric will allow trainees under my supervision.

I'm available most days, so please do poke me if you need help learning.

Any 30 day rules are waived for logging into WHL as a DM for this DM training session, since you will be supervised by Adanu the whole time. I recommend a password change when you guys are done. Have fun and thanks for doing this!

Well... I'm hesitant to do this mainly because I play on WHL but as long as I wouldn't see anything I shouldn't (or haven't seen already), then I might be interested. I'm truly clueless as I haven't even opened the DM client on the game.

Is this just a "how to" class, or is there an expectation that you'll be DMing on a specific server afterward? I don't want to DM WHL as that's my primary play server. I would most prefer to help on Moonshaes... ideally to try to get any open visitors we have to stick around and apply. I was planning on having my "secondary" PC travel there for that purpose, but DMing there might be more effective if can be taught to do it properly. As a player all I can do is tavern chat and party up for an adventure if I can figure out where the low level adventuring spots are. As a DM I could create some adventures to try to draw them in.

That's really the main thing I'd be interested in... DMing to bring in more peeps (and only that if I'm sure I can do it well enough not to scare them off).
Current PC: I'm not tellin'. They die when I put their names here.

you will not be DMing WHL, just learning how to use the tools and run an adventure.

What castano said. As for 'seeing things you shouldn't', I'd be doing all of this is the main DM room, and maybe one other. You wouldn't have issues.

This is a how to tutorial. Nothing more.

Well, I'm out of town the week of the 4th, but I'm game for any EST evening other then that if you want to try to get a few others in for a group class.
