'Ello ALFAns,
As the title says, you may inquire about anything you desire here. As for my views I shall hold them simple:
Simplicity may be a key to cause ALFA coming back to success. Over the past weeks where ALFA was at first pretty down and then picking up, it showed that people seemed mostly interested in participating in something that is not a weave of complexity where you easily get drowned in rules or otherwise offers or happenings.
My belief is that most ALFAns just want to go IG for RP, Events and Fun. You may think right now, no duh Zilvai!, but in all honesty I think most have forgotten this and only together can we help remind that we are all here for just that.
In effect I'd like to look over what everyone believes that causes the lack of fun. Creat a thread where everyone names keywords on what bugs them, then touch them singularly till everyone can be pleased with ALFA.
Oh, and not that this comes out the wrong way, ALFA is great, it's why I play here when I have free time but we all know our ALFA experience can be more pleasent.

Re: Questions to Zilvai about PAing
With most of the Player Admins duties being distinctly external from the game itself, in what ways do you plan to streamline some of the complexity and bolster what makes ALFA 'fun'?Player Administrator—Applications, Guilds, ALFA Player’s Manual, ALFA Representatives, Player Discipline, and Player Acceptance.
How do you feel you will be with working with the existing Admin?
Re: Questions to Zilvai about PAing
ALFA has a knack for "we must expand till things get fun" instead of seeing that we already do have alot, we just need to use what we have already. There is a ton of content that is left untouched mainly due to fear of seeing a PC die. There are multiple ways to resolve such but it will need to be brought up to the players first before any decision is made, such as downgrading monster CR, etc. Some like the high CR, others don't. It all needs a bit of talk.
As for rules, I think some are hampering. I was pretty thrilled by the fact many had voted for two PCs to allow people to log on, on a similar server to have fun together. I'll be offering suggestions and be expecting suggestions from others to see how we can work together to make ALFAns play together more, etc, then adjust the rules around what we declare fun and not fun.

So... it seems this needs to be asked; what's your understanding of the PA's duties and function?

An individual that is there to voice the concerns of the ALFAn populace and whom is there to solve them with the community.Ithildur wrote:So... it seems this needs to be asked; what's your understanding of the PA's duties and function?
I'd also like to consider it a "Player for Players" position. Someone who does not play ALFA may not understand what other players go through.

Most times you put 2 players in a room you'll get 5 opinions of what concerns them.zilvai wrote:An individual that is there to voice the concerns of the ALFAn populace
We don't agree about anything most days other than the fact that we all like RP, and even with that we differ on what type of RP we prefer.
I guess the question is what concerns you, and how would you plan to adress those concerns.
(im guessing the question is somewhat moot atm, but still assuming PAing is something you would like to do one day... it would be good to hear what you think on current ALFA situation and how, with the tools you get as a PA, you plan to improve on it)
<paazin>: internet relationships are really a great idea
Re: Questions to Zilvai about PAing
Certainly ALFA's populace is known to have many different views but as a community we all can find a middle ground that are adequate for both sides. The only thing that is to be done is to sit down and talk respectfully with each other.
Ofcourse I as a player have my own views on matters, however, those views will not be on par with my PAing. As a PA I vow to be a medium and neutral party between suggestions and negative occurences between players.

Re: Questions to Zilvai about PAing
A PA must in the end, however, make a decision that will upset one person or another, that is the burden which falls on someone in an administration position, here and in the real world. One cannot please everyone, nor be wishy-washy on decisions, nor be popular all the time with everyone.
Re: Questions to Zilvai about PAing
True, yet what makes a PA a good PA, is that they should work together with the playerbase instead of falling decisions alone at a whim. Even Court has it's Trusties that give votes.maxcell wrote:A PA must in the end, however, make a decision that will upset one person or another, that is the burden which falls on someone in an administration position, here and in the real world.
