"It's Wil." Her first meeting with Wil Kneesplitter, would not be the last time she heard the correction, and the memory made her smile slightly as she trudged Westward along the Lion's Way to the coastline. She had opted to dress only in her comfortable robes of service, rather than her armors, for the trek. She did not fear her safety, as she was accompanied by a few heading the same way for one reason or another. Her reason, was to spend some days in quiet mourning for one she considered a friend. One who she had discovered, upon return to Ruqel, had fallen in battle with some beast. She knew that death was part of life. A cycle she had seen many times before, and comforted several with words she felt Selune delivered to those mourning by her own simple words, or just presence. The thoughts brought another faint smile as she recalled Wil's indifference if not outright scorn to those who served their gods. The comments and discussions on the matter. She always wondered what Wil thought as he witnessed or felt the touch of the Moonmaiden's blessings through her hands. She wondered if she had chosen wisely to not argue with him when he made dismissive comments, but chose rather to accept him for who he was, and still lift him before her goddess in her own prayers. She hoped he knew, ...somehow.
In the distance, Candlekeep could be seen in the early morning light. They were close now, and the thought of mourning in earnest brought fresh tears to her eyes. "I will miss you, William" She thought somberly.
"It's Wil."
