A much battered and bloodied group of adventurers stumbled their way out of the kitchen of the Helm and Cloak the other day. Each one looking sorrier than the one before. Two members of the much maligned party wore the distinctive armor of the faithful of Torm and Helm, both badly bashed, gouged and pitted, and barely held together by blood-covered buckles. One wore slashed and torn leathers and apparantly not quite suited to the blows that had fallen upon them. The third, an elderly man with a balding pate, and despite his obvious physical distress, managed to keep about him a sense of wonder and excitement at whatever it was that transpired beyond the kitchen door.

Some say that the group mentioned undead creatures roaming in large numbers beneath the city in need of destruction and their attempts to do so, claiming that their goals appeared to have been within their grasp when out of the foul misty darkness appeared an armored undead knight of great power, who's disdain for their efforts in their gods' names was only matched the skill with which he quickly felled the stocky Helmite with four resounding blows of his greataxe. It was only by the quick and courageous actions of one of their numbers that the grievously and nearly fatally wounded Helmite was roused sufficiently for him to stagger out with his fellows and return to the surface, while being chased out by the diabolical laughter and derisive taunts of the undead knight.

Unconfirmed rumour has it that their assailant claimed to be a servant of a vampire. One can only conjecture what sort of creature this vampire must be for it to have servants of such fearsome power of their own.

A male hin, an male elf of noble carraige, a balding male human, and a dark skinned male human in immaculate full plate armour were seen in deep discussion with a group of four elves in The Helm and Cloak.

Overheard may have been something about madmen in a forest and a corrupt fey.

Later the diverse group of four left with one of the elves, only to return later looking battleworn, bloodied, and weary.

One of the group of four elves came down from the rooms above and was seen to pass some coin to the hin and the balding human, but curiously not to the dark skinned knight or the noble looking elf.

Edited out by ayergo as it did not make any sense IC (The elfsong should be full of folks quietly waiting for the elf to sing, anyone raising their voice is quickly thrown out). In the future please leave playing the NPCs to the DM team

A rash of disappearances has plagued the city, many being young males. Rumors abound regarding the disappearance including:

1) Herne the Hunter, a spirit of the cloakwood, has sent a fey named Jolene to steal folks from the town that he can kill them for sport in the woods.

2) The Dragon of the Island has decided to fly in and masquerade as a fey named Jolene and is eating folks alive. Many are putting up simple wards against dragons.

3) A wealthy courtesan named Jolene from Amn has gone crazy and is building a personal army of man-slaves using her feminine whiles.

A song has become popular throughout Baldur's Gate:
There's a place I like to hide
A doorway that I run through in the night
Relax child, you were there
But only didn't realize and you were scared
It's a place where you will learn
To face your fears, retrace the years
And ride the whims of your mind

An armoured, male, dark-skinned human, a male hin, and another young, male human were seen entering the east gate. The bedraggled, battleworn group was notable due to the two decomposing corpses they carried with them. The armoured human handling one with little effort, while the hin staggered beneath the other, eyes streaming tears, but with a grim and determined expression.

Rumours circulate that the bodies of the beautiful Aasimar Tormite Tessele Amplecrown and a less well known male elven ranger some knew as Cavinin have been recovered from the Cloakwood by three battered adventurers and deposited in the Temple of Tymora.

Much appreciated for posting a heads up on this. I'm going to be busy getting the server patched tonight but I'll try to catch you guys soon.

A bedraggled hin staggered into town beneath the corpse of a male elf with silver hair, led by a handsome, blonde haired human male. If the sight had not been so grim, it likely would have been comical, as the human seemed unable to dissuade the hoeplessly overburdened hin into relinquishing the corpse, and had to guide him about with hand and voice due to the hin being unable to see from beneath the ragged corpse.

Rumours shortly began to circulate the the body was that of the elf, rumoured to be of noble blood from Evermeet, Vonlyr.

(confirmed: Vonlyr is brought back)

Gossipers whisper and talk of the fair haired Sunite warrior leaving for waterdeep in great haste with a panicked look on his after having received a letter from the Sun Soul Monastery in regards to a pregnant woman.

Two elves were seen partaking of copious amounts of wine in the Helm and Cloak last eve. Both seemed unsettled to a greater or lesser extent. The two spoke little and what they did say was in their own tongue, though all appearances indicated that they had just returned from a harrowing experience somewhere outside Baldur's Gate.

The tavern's bard was said to spot the two and grin briefly before resuming the night's entertainment.

A local song has become quite popular by a few bards in the city.

"As mothers cry,
while their husbands die,
Where are our heroes?
As children no longer bother,
To ask where is Father?
What of our heroes?

While the Flaming Fist,
Still insists.
We see no heroes.
So we watch our road merchants leave,
And stand with what Jolene has left us to bereave.
Still no heroes.
What would Baldur say,
If he saw no one stay?
And saw no heroes?

Truely days of dark,
when no one will hark,
Our scream for heroes.
But still I still watch East, West, South, North,
For such brave and strong to come forth.
My friends, there are still heroes."

The current plan is for Saturday (still working on time)...as a brave few plan to plunge into the depths of the unknown and battle the plague of evil which has torn apart the poor forests of Baldur's Gate.

The male hin some are coming to know as Rugo was seen labouring beneath the bloody corpse of a human male in shredded black leather armour. Shortly after Rugo dragged the corpse into town rumours began to circulate that it was the Malarite woodsman known to some as Minos.

Rumours speak of a new arrival in the helm and blade last night, a petite looking young woman with white hair. While apparantly still getting accustomed to the city, she assisted a paladin by the name of Ashan and a golden haired elf in escorting the body of the well known Rugo to the Song of the Morning, in Beregost.

Following that journey, it's rumoured that the trio have plans to hunt down a dragon in an effort to save their companion. The young woman later joked to the bartender that 'cases of acute lunacy' have also began to climb.
No one in this world can you trust. Not men, not women, not beasts.
[Points to the sword.]
But this...this you can trust.
