There was a terrible attack upon Gullykin by the dead given life again. The attack came in the night, with little warning. Panicked villagers locked their doors and shutters, while some took up their pitchforks and crossbows. The defense of the town was desperate and while the dead where driven off or put back to rest, some brave hin fell in the defense of the town.

At this stage Gullykin is in the immediate aftermath of the attack, with villagers being tended to, and survivors treated for shock. There is little time for thought and reflection while hin still cry for aid on the street, and the defenses are rallied and renewed.

Local adventurers were instrumental in the defense of the town, though at least one hysterical villager can be heard blaming them for "poking around like foreigners where they have no business poking around"

in Gullykin, a funeral is arranged for the departed.

A newcomer halfling bard, with quiet tears in her eyes, moved as she was by the shelter provided by this town writes a song to honour the departed, and to help ease the townfolk.

A song for those who have departed Gullykin.

Oh shining souls of our family,
resting in peace with our deities,
flying in dreams so clearly,
far away from further calamity

Though you have gone,
We will remember you all,
Our family is strong,
but we will miss your songs.

And though you may feel,
Lost and alone,
as their book has sealed,
You are never gone

Uro-galan, urogalan, uro-galan,

We are as we are,
Those that will be,
and those that have been,
we will one day meet.

In worlds so great,
to have your embrace,
in eternal lights,
We will shine...

Rest now young friends,
for it is never the end,
with immortal rhymes,
and infinite times.

be at ease my friends
peace upon gullykin.

A group of Gullykin villagers and a few guests recovered one of the missing children from a den of spiders in the near by Wood of Sharp Teeth.

The halfling known as Sophia was seen caring the little girl back to her parents when returning to the village.

A golden haired elf was seen staggering down the stairway inside the Jovial Juggler, nearly colliding with a table and knocking it over. He continued towards the exit, and apparently in an attempt to avoid stares, pulled up his hood and covered the lower part of his face with his forearm.

Onlookers say he staggered on towards the nearby temple of the Morninglord...

News from Beregost: On the heels of the return of one of Beregosts citizens, thought to have perished at Highsong Abbey is talk of a vampire once known as Jeleneth. Some citizens recall that the vampire attacked at least two people at one of the inns withing Beregost some many years ago. Some citizens recall the many rumors and descriptions of the evil woman, but all agree that a vampire is the last thing the town needs with the increasingly slower and slower trade. The vampiress is described as a horrible creature, bent on pain and torture. Many tell of the story where the vile abomination was killed and destroyed at the Friendly Arms Inn many years ago, and insists that whatever talk of vampires there may be, this one has been long disposed of

A tall, lithe, dangerous and angry looking raven-haired woman wrapped in dark leathers can be heard cursing in Alzhedo every time the name Jeleneth is spoken ...

Against a backdrop of dead things walking in the Wood of Sharp Teeth, the town of Gullykin holds a meeting of the families. Items previously on the agenda (Radish mite, the annual garden show, and a community fund for promoting more trade with Beregost) have been discarded in favor of more pressing concerns (The gnoll activity, missing hins, and attack on the town by the dead who walk).

There is much anger and confusion and fear and even a little paranoia expressed by the families. Some lightfoots have chosen to leave the town, heading instead for Beregost (where "We will be safe") or further afield. Others advocate closing the town off to all visitors who "might be spies". The more sensible Strongheart families suggest that a palisade should be built. One particularly vocal hin (who was shouted down) blamed the attacks on the "foreigners" who brought their foreign gods to Gullykin. A great prayer to Yondalla the protector is held.

After much discussion and debate a consensus of sorts is reached, and the following articles noted in the recorded histories of Gullykin.

*A pallisade will be raised to protect the vulnerable areas of the town
*The families will pay an extra tax this year to help fund the defense of the town
*Familes are also requested to dig deep in the attics for any adventuring heirlooms that may help defenders
*A plea to other halfling settlements will be dispatched requesting aid of any sort
*Every effort will be made to find the still missing four hin ("Hamster" Gubby (29, M), Potter Potter (37, F), Blueberry Winkleflower (7, F), Yellowberry Winkleflower (7, M))

Some villagers in Gullykin are complaining about things going missing. Calin Pummelo swears the copper buckles off his best shoes have been stolen when he left them in front of the fire to dry, while Soppi Ashenfade notes that her candles have been taken from the third drawer down on her best cabinet (right next to the nice dishes, the ones that came all the way from Ireabor).

Anastasia Clearwater can be seen making "scarecrows" in some of the out of the way places of gullykin, using scraps of cloth and twine and wood that is not needed, to help practice some offensive spells.

The mornings rays show a collapsed mess of straw and cloth and sticks where Anastasias scarecrows stood yesterday. It would appear that overnight someone has untied and stolen all the twine.

Sophia would be seen on the highest hills. She seems to be trying to sing notes to a song she can't quite remember. Sometimes she would pause and stare into the sky or trees feeling the gentle wind with a faraway look in her eyes.

A Sun Elf who for many moons was a somewhat regular visitor to Gullykin was said to pass through the settlement recently on his way towards the ruins of Firewine. After overhearing rumblings of trouble, the Elf was heard offering his aid, just as he did a year ago when a group lead by three elves helped deal with the uprising of shadows in the area.

He reported made complementary remarks on the hinfolk's ability to take care of their own troubles, saying he would become directly involved only if the trouble was determined to be serious enough to merit them asking for his aid. He was an outsider, after all, and the hin folk surely had their own heroes.

A halfling known to be a songtress of Sheela Peryroyl, was shown the cut woodlands of the forest. She was saddened to see trees cut with nothing given back to nature, by the bestial gnolls.

She sings a song before departing, their deeds done hoping that the trees will once more find the strength to grow again.

Gullykin hunters report that the wandering zombies in the wood of sharp teeth have largely moved eastward and seem to be consolidating into a larger mass.

The halfling paladin "Reggie Longwalk" has been seen preparing his arms and armor, and gathering a few hunters with him to investigate further.
