A Land Far Away

When she is not sleeping, Lady's College scholar Jhessi Kross is studying, reading or otherwise perfecting her use of the Art. After a return from watery environs near the Evermoor area, she inquires among the transmutation dormitory about helpful spells -- water breathing specifically. She offers to trade one of the spells she has researched in exchange for any help.

She then seeks knowledge of the lizard tribes in the area regarding their culture, religion and language.

Scholar Kross walks with purpose throughout the Lady's College, asking (some might say pestering) for Advanced Exam questions. She asks just about everyone she can for the identity of the keeper of the third Abjuration question.

Scholar Kross returns from one of her common field excursions with bags of this and that -- fungi of undetermined (to her) origin, lumps of rock and gemstones and other interesting finds. She said she plans to subject them to magical testing to determine their usefulness in augmenting or dampening various forms of the weave.

A few days after others return from a northern excursion, Scholar Jhessi Kross returns with her companion, Bertilak, to the Lady's College. Cradling a pile of notes to her chest and carrying a full satchel, she retreats to her room for study.

Once again the young Scholar Kross returns to a routine of scholarship, sleep and more scholarship. She leans against a pillar on the floor of the library, preferring to get on her familiar's level, and begins to organize a pile of notes seemingly about teleportation and portals. Jhessi freely speaks with any bookwyrm that approaches in draconic and shares with them what the notes say, studiously making a copy of her own while she studies the at times disheveled pages.

Later she volunteers to help repair texts in the library, putting her mending spell to use, and returns other books to their proper place -- not without peeking between the pages first, of course.

Scholar Kross spends time in the library spending time near the shelves of conjuration, divination and necromancy. If asked of her interest, she says she's looking into magical weaves involving the first two schools when tied the third.

Scholar Kross and Bertilak are at times on the roof of the college performing testing of various magics, while Kross records unexpected results in a tabular format.

Scholar Kross buries herself in research into portal magic and another student's thesis. Once joined by Bertilak, she quickly retreats to her room for a discussion.

She emerges tearfully and heads into the city. Some see her collecting freshly killed rats. Jhessi Kross returns to the college for study in her room.
