Rivermoot: A young squire to one of the Knights in Silver has been running the gauntlet back and forth from Rivermoot to Rauvinwatch to Silvermoon with messages for the Knights as defenses are mustered.
Local goodwives have been tutt-tutting and are worried the young lad will end up like one of those of the Morninglord worshippers, all lean muscles and good to look at, but nothing to hang onto while keeping a woman warm under he blankets in winter.
Said squire has been seen red faced as this tutt-tutting has often been done in front of the other older off duty soldiers.
Both goodwives and soldiers have been seen to be laughing muchly at this.
......laughter has been trailing off quickly as worried eyes are drawn inexorably towards the hills to the north

The Argent Legion reinforcements are ordered back to the east as the threat has mostly diminished and Rivermoot seems capable of standing on it's own. Scouts still report higher than normal orc activity, but morale is high after the recent victories.*
(( still one final staged encounter in game. if i'm free i'll run it as a DM, otherwise, be warned it's not safe for Rivermoot newbies to solo. ))
The Legionnaires of the Rivermoot garrison are informed by an elderly man of southern complection, that he and a half-dozen armsmates assaulted and dispersed a motley crew of ogres in the hills. One of the vanquished brutes had blue skin, perhaps a clue of its preference for frost magics put to battlefield use. A surface camp was laid waste, and a greater strength underground was burned out, these ogres seeming to have sheltered with a mixed group of orcs and goblins under one orcish warleader's banner. No casualties among the expedition, but they intend resupplying in Rivermoot such that a second survey to the hills for some other band (rivals? allies?) of the first may be routed as well. The old man's band seems to hail from nearly any parts but local, but seem well enough disposed to take their ease at Rivermoot.

*A dragon, said to have nearly razed Auvandell with a horde of orcs a few tendays earlier, has attacked Khelb and after many blows and breaths was smote down in defeat. Signs of devastation still litter the field in front of the town, with trees knocked over and ground upturned.
Rumors are conflicting on the issue, but a blonde knight, seen talking to a dragon near Khelb a while ago, is considered the likely heroine.*
It has been reported to the Rivermoot Legion the rumors of Orc Screams near the plantation ridge were caused by exceptionally durable undead attacking the orcs.
It was then later reported to the Legion that upon further investigation a potent and horribly disfigured Necromancer was within the ruins and appears to have been working to create a patchwork being. The Necromancer has been slain, and his patchwork creation of ogre, troll, and human parts has been burnt to ash.

On the late morning of Kythorn 4, smoke rises slowly from the Felbarr pass, forming majestic spirals in the crisp, still air of a sunny day in the mountains.
A dwarf approached the Mithril Hall guards at Fourth Peak with a dead warrior slung over his shoulders.
He explains to Hrafen Jye that he found the warrior, obviously a follower of Tempus by rings and holy ornamentation, on a bluff in hills occupied by the gnoll clans. It seemed a battle had taken place with a number of empty vials strewn about the ground.
Bhaerynden plans to bring the corpse down to the Rivermoot village as one of the items on the body was an honorific horn emblazoned with the village name and must be well known to them.
(( OOC - Bhaerynden entrusted care of the corpse, including gear, to Hrafen at the FP fort .... had to log off and will continue down the mountain later unless of IC events intervene))

OOC - Corpse is now gone. Not sure if it was IC recovered by other players/ moved/ disappeared.

Anything come of this? The body was left in the care of the Fort at Fourth Peak (they know the KD and Tempest), did some PC think "hey look loot!" or did the server reset, etc. Boz is very keen at identifying the corpse and regaining the Horn of Rivermoot that was gifted to the Knights Draconis for their service.

Word spreads quickly of a (rather cute) cat familiar's murder in Silverymoon. The city's many mages express outrage at the act, with a number petitioning the Spellguard to take action.
There's also some rumors of a Knight in Silver being arrested for treason.
