I'm back!

Post by Xerxes »

Not sure if anyone still remembers me, but I was a player WAY back in the day, DM for waterdeep and so on... Logged in and saw that alfa is still going so I thought I might give it a try.
Just a quick question. Other than NWN2 which expantions do I need?

Urrk went to se if i could find it but none of the download sites has the exps for sale for some reason... starting to lose the urge. This was always the problem with alfa, getting started for new players or getting back on the horse if you've been away...

Welcome back Xerxes! :D

are you Euro or american? if you're a Euro, a good place to check is amazon or CEX, I believe they are also available to DL from Atari direct.

I downloadef them directly from Atari, and said I was from Britana to get it for half the price.

So if my serial key gets bannef, then I guess they check up the adress and noticed that I dont live in Buckerham Palace

Mask of the betrayer and Storms of Zehir, you dont need the westgate one.

20 bucks for nwn2 and all expansions, just as cheap even if you already have the base game

There are both euro and US players and DMs. Weekends can be quite busy with 10+ players on the servers.

Hey Xerxes, welcome back!

IIRXC you had a PC in the Helm faction which, sadly, has expired. (the faction, not the PC)

Low level roguish naer-do-wells on Moonshaes if you want that :)

TSM regularly has 10+ during EST evenings, a little light on DM activity at the moment but that is remedying itself and the DMs that are around are making great use of their efforts

BG seems a little more irregular with only a handful most times but can balloon up during DM times.

MS has a steady base and is the newest server with probably the most active DM team with various campaigns and plots for ne'er-do-wells for the most part.

Play a while and see how you like things, try to get involved in some regular DMed stuff, moonshaes is probably best in that regard. The nwn2 client is sometimes unintuitive and difficult in comparison to nwn1, it's just that little bit different enough to cause longtime players a bit of a fit for a while as they get used to the controls again. After a month or so I found I liked it better though, more camera views and I got he hang of it, changed some keybindings and reduced the sensitivity on the camera.

if you have a notion what kind of character you want to make we can give you an idea where it will best fit. Generally speaking blatantly evil buggers end up poorly on TSM, and I imagine a crusading paladin would not survive long on Moonshaes.

We're always looking for DMs too ;) but get in game as a player and have some fun first and see if the bug strikes you. ALFAdrama tm. is significantly reduced from the old days as well, so I guess, cheers to that too.
