A note on DM boom

Post by boombrakh »

  • I am going to go into this as fresh meat and mistakes will be made. Here is the thing though: It's just a computer game so nothing is really permanent. Remember that when I horribly murder your character and laugh in your face about it.. you know, because of humor. And it's funny when people get upset about shit that doesn't really matter. Or something.
  • I am not all that keen on smash and grabs that is all the rage these days with you kids. Instead i prefer shit that screws up your character and puts it on the moral line. Morally grey is fun, Black and White is not.
  • I tech rez if I believe you and I usually do. If you don't like it, complain to whoever is in charge of this ship for the moment. Fool me once though, and I'll have you placed in "Camp Sailor Moon" where DM lube is scarce.
  • I like to see characters grow and change. We're not supposed to play a class, or a level, or anything else really.. .other than a person of course.
  • I might trick you by going left and then going right. Always expect the unexpected. If something seems like I just took a shit and nothing makes sense, go with it. Odds are that I know what I am doing (or at least is clever enough to make up some bullshit reason afterwards).
  • I hate when character dies, but I wont hold your hand. If you are stupid, you die. Or maybe not. Who knows with me?
  • Gangsta!

pragmatic (adj.)
The opposite of idealistic is pragmatic, a word that describes a philosophy of "doing what works best."
From Greek pragma "deed," the word has historically described philosophers and politicians who were
concerned more with real-world application of ideas than with abstract notions. A pragmatic person
is sensible, grounded, and practical.

Another note on me as a DM.

I am not very likely to run a weekly campaign, nor am I a schedule-DM. I DM when I want and I want to pretty often. There is nothing wrong with asking me for some DM-lube, I am not in any way "above" anyone else just because I am a DM. If I want to, i'll do it, if I don't want to (at the moment), i'll say no. And no isn't "No forever!", it is "not right now" because there isn't a person in this community I wouldn't DM should I be asked to.

So, stay online. Before you know it, im there tossing flying badgers at you and rewarding you with OP artifacts and phat xp!

As some of you might have noticed, i've been away for a week or so. It's just been a lot with work and RL right now. As soon as things settle down, i'll come online and terrorize you again.
