Missing for years but have returned!

I used to play on ALFA sites till July 2007 when my system crashed and due to major life changes I was not able to run NWN at all on my system and the crashed system sat till this weekend. Now after purchasing a new PC and laptop I am back.
I have a lot of catching up to do. Finding the servers and catching up on news. I mhave missed playing and the friendships from ALFA.
I hope that some here will remember me. I played Miranda (cannot remember her last name) last time I was on and made it to 6th level. My now ex husband was Puc.

Welcome home. Your PC should still be in a backup somewhere, I think.

I was just informed of the existance of this thread, so I copied my original greeting below:
Just wanted to say hi to GeLeah. After seeing her pics, decked out in full plate and lance ready to impale some poor dumb schmuck, I've been dying to finally run into one of her characters, IG. Frankly, she gives me the willies.
I hope you take that in the good way it was meant. I never had the funds (or, frankly, the cojones, for trying to get into the whole re-enactment/LARP scene, and applaud one who obviously managed to pull it off in style.
Welcome back. Anticipating some awesome RP, if our timezones converge.

Hello again,
Thank you for the warm welcome. I am happy to see that ALFA is still the friendly place it was years ago. It would be nice that that my chars would have been backed up but I understand that the vault needs to be cleaned out at times and the last I played was over 2 years ago. It is okay.
I am looking forwad to playing again. I have on NWN 1 - I have seen a lot of posts about NWN 2. Is Two required now for play?
Also, it used to be that the ALFA servers where such named in through GameSpy to make it easier to locate. I have found only one. Could someone fill me in on the changes here. I am sure the passsword I have from over 2 years ago is no longer valid and my memory of where it is located is shot.
Sorry to be a pain. I played with Puc (Fionn McGreggor and my life partner) and he would help me on the little details. We are no longer together so I resort to asking!
Nice to see my pics are still showing on the site! I am not a "witchy" person, I am just scripted that way. Our group is very much theatrical and we do not actually joust. I have done it once and that is enough for me. I enjoy entertaining and I can play the baddy "witch" when needed. In real life, I have been told I am a sweet heart!

there's currently two (maybe three) Neverwinter Nights 1 servers remaining - Sembia, Shadowdale and I think Moonshae Isles is still floating around. Sembia is really the only current active ones, with regular DM coverage (as SDs last DM stepped down a week or so ago). To be honest, NWN1 is slowly reaching its last days, but there's a few of us who are still enjoying it while it lasts. So if you wish to play often (more than once a week or so) it may pay to invest in a copy of NWN2, there still is plenty of adventure to be had in 1
If you check out the servers page (think it's
http://www.alandfaraway.org/servers but if not, you can find it in the left sidebar off the main site), you'll see the direct IP which will allow you to connect to the servers. Also the password is displayed on that page.
Not sure about your old PC, sorry. Someone more technologically inclined than myself will have to help there.

Hey there! Thank you so much for the wonderful information. I may invest in 2 but for now I will stick with 1 to get back into the game. I was looking forward to Waterdeep but it will wait. I am in the process of purchasing a home so once that is done and we are settled in I will check out NWN2.
I really appreciate the information and guidance. My schedule is still really busy (like it was years ago) but I am hoping to play some this weekend. We are waiting for another copy of NWN1 for my son! He is now 13 and can play as well. He has not applied yet because he is not as into RPing as I am but we will see.

Welcome back, and Rotku's basically right on point of "what's still active in NWN1."
Sembia has been experimenting with a "campaign PC" program type of thing, which might be of appeal if your existing PC can't be located or rebuilt from the vault. More or less the idea of the campaign PC business is "join one of the existing campaigns with a level & gear appropriate fresh PC that'd fit that campaign", it's described in better detail in the Sembia forums.
Anyhow, again, welcome back, have fun whatever you get into, cheers.

GeLeah.. wow. Long time. Good to see you again. You wouldn't remember me, of course. I was just getting started back then, and couldn't make US times too much.
Sorry to hear you're not really jousting. I recall seeing that pic at times and thinking "man, I gotta tell her how much I admire her for doing that".
