Merdock here.... Well, I have played NWN1&2. I played on the Frontier with some friends of mine. I got tired of the polical BS and lack of roleplay. So I have not been playing NWN2 for a while. Someone from work(not naming who) started to make a few comments about a new place call ALFA.
So, I'm trying it out!

Welcome to ALFA. Sounds like you're here for NWN2, but if you have NWN1 still, there are still active pockets across four Live servers, plus the occasional "temp server" (retired Live or Beta servers) up for events.
Hint: in game is ALWAYS going to be more fun than the forums or IRC, I provide it just due to the mention of "political BS" managing to turn you off someplace else. Every large group of gamers has that, we're no exception!
