Greetings and glad to be here!

Post by rodkinnison »

Hello, world!
I was doing computer adventure games (Zork) from 1977 and PnP RPG's since 1979 with the old 'red box and cheap dice" D&D basic set. Moved on to TFT and later GURPS in a very long running campaign (1982-1997), until I moved away. Been missing that RPG flavor; tried MMORPG's but the "programmed" feel got a bit boring. Discovered Neverwinter Nights and loved it, got NWN2 and thought all it was missing was a GM to allow for the feel of a PnP game. I've come to find out!
My major problem is that my hours are very irregular. I'm an entrepreneur in real life and so I'm seldom able to predict when I'm on. However, I'd love to contribute to the feel of the world when I'm there. I hope to see you soon! Thanks for the oppotrunity to try again.

Welcome!

Let us know if you have any problems linking up with other players or DM's. We've had lots of irregulars find their rp'ing joy over the years.

Glad to have you here! :D

And you're right, having an actual DM makes these kinds of games much more fun!
Currently laying the smackdown on Faerun as: Keryn Tel'Jora, who is XXX-TREME!!!.
Currently explaining the meaninglessness of it all as Vizian Nazyr.
Currently pointing out all other characters' shortcomings as Stephen the Archer.

That didn't take long

Well, I met the other PCs in the area. Coincidentally, I recently came across a site of "motivational posters" based on RPG sterotypes. I think they sum up the situation nicely.

First: http://llbbl.com/data/RPG-motivational/target37.html
Then: http://llbbl.com/data/RPG-motivational/target58.html
And finally: http://llbbl.com/data/RPG-motivational/target103.html

Be seeing you, number 6...

Well, I knew you all for too brief a time.

I will remember my time here but have found other venues where the play style meshes better with mine. ALFA is a great, wide scope, and very ambitious persistent world, and I wish you and your community every success. It just wasn't right for me.
