Just wanted to say that I have been officially promoted to ALFA member and I'm really looking forward to joining you all on the Live servers.

Don't pick a server, because it fits your character concept. Make certain, that the server you choose has players in your timezone, that's more important.

Okay, what is the easiest way of checking for players/DMs in my time zone?

Players is easy...log into Gamespy so you can see all of the servers when you normally play the most. You will see the player count on that screen to choose from.
DMs? Once you choose your server, shoot off a PM to the DM team introducing your character to them with a short bio (trust me it is appreciated and helps them to DM you)
