New Australian playing

Post by Sebaa »

Hi all,

I'd just like to say thanks for letting me be a part of your community! I play in GMT +10 times, and by the looks of google calendar, I'd say that the best server to join would be Moonshae Isles?

Are there any fellow Australians here? I've been yet to find a low level, med-low magic RP server for NWN2, so I'm really excited and happy to be here.

As someone who loves his RP, but isn't so crash hot with his FR lore - are there any suggestion you could have for me? Character types to avoid for now, or certain people/literature I should start talking to/reading?

Anyway, thanks for your time - and I hope I can find a place amongst you all!

Welcome!

There's a number of auzzies around the community, though I'm Euro myself, so probably timezones will keep us apart as I'll be DMing on your early morning hours.

Hello, and welcome! I know we have several players and DMs from your part of the world... maybe Swift and Rotku?

Hi,
not playing at the moment due to RL, but I lurk in hope of some DM time now and then.

Thanks for the resounding welcome guys!

Does anyone have an opinion of which server I should look at starting on considering my timezone? Or is one as good as another for player population?

If you can catch a DM on your timezone, then where-ever that is is best. If not, the fact seems to be that Baldur's Gate by far the highest average player density, increasing your chances to run to other players and get your game going. Conversely, the other servers with less players might increase your chances to get dedicated DM time (less players to split a DM's time between).

But I would suggest playing where you see people on when you get to play, and perhaps make a character that is not ICly too tied down, so you can also travel to get your gaming started. There's only so much you can plan before you get a taste of the waters. The widget that shows IG players on the top of the screen is teh good.

Thank you, I didn't notice that!

After all that, I realised I don't own the final expansion pack for NWN2. So you're all going to have to wait a week or so before we get to play with each other!

Thanks again for the info, ill monitor that widget daily and workout if Baldur's Gate really is the most popular server in my prime time!

Don't believe everything that they say, Sebaa. Sometimes, when the stars are right, someone comes along and makes it with their very first character.

Where's the fun in having a character that lives!? ;)

I've purchased the new expansion from Steam, so I most likely will be on tonight to have a sticky beak around!

I'll make sure I play a very basic character at first so I can get my feet wet with your server and lore. Honestly, I would be happy if he makes it to level three, but from the sounds of things - I doubt that. Haha!

Thanks again for the welcome, and hopefully I see a few of you on tonight. If not, then there is always the weekend to catch you northern folk online.
