Excelent thanks man making sure the damn thing doesnt lag the hell out of a server is a big concern. There are steps that can easily be taken easily to make parsing take longer (could do it line by line) if theyre needed but hopefully we wont need to. I know that when it tried to parse the thing before i put the 4 line max per screen refresh it pretty much brought my single player game to a stop till it was done. Reading should be good to go i think though. that only does a max of 60 lines per page turn.

Ok could use a hand with languages if anyone is good with them im dumb heh. So far i know the alphabets and have fonts for:

ESPRUAR - Elven
DETHEK - Dwarven
Bad Klingon knock off - Draconic
Thorass - Old Human

(Thanks a million for the links by the way fonts are not easy to find)

And thats it I would like to do something for each language the DMFI supports which i think is something like:

Abyssmal
Animal
Celestial
Draconic
Drow
Dwarf
Elven
Gnome
Goblin
Halfling
Infernal
Leetspeak
Orc
Thieve's Cant

Which would mean I dont know what to do for:

Abyssmal
Celestial
Drow
Gnome
Goblin
Halfling
Infernal
Orc

Leetspeak - im not realy worried about this its illegeable any way heh
Animal - dont think the write do they?
Thieve's Cant - this more of a dialect?

but im not sure if im missing any or already have some or what

Would also like to add a druid language and such and taking suggestions as well especaily if people have links to fonts.

I know I've seen a list of the alphabets used by all languages somewhere ... I'll look around to see if I can find it again.
People talk of bestial cruelty, but that's a great injustice and insult to the beasts; a beast can never be so cruel as man, so artistically cruel.

Several languages share the same alphabet. Dwarven, gnome, orcish and giant for example, all use the same runes. We can either let them all use the same lettering, or perhaps use FR 3 dethek runes for the dwarves and the A&D version for the gnomes. Which then still leaves the others out in the cold.

orcs and goblins write books?

I found this link interesting
http://wiki.narfell-nwn.com/Languages

Its shows halflings as using Thorass as their alphabet.

This is awesome work you are doing mate.. great plot devices.

This means we can develop research statics for people so I'll be using it for the Zhentil Keep Mage Guild statics and other nefarious people who wish to remain nameless..

According to that list, Gnomes do not speak.
(unless they're clerics and/or from Lantan)

Riiiiight...

And to help you finish off.. :)

Celestial - http://www.omniglot.com/writing/angelic.htm
Drow - http://www.angelfire.com/rpg2/vortexsha ... runes.html
Gnome - dethek
Goblin - dethek
Halfling - thorass
Orc - dethek

Now for abyssal and infernal (and many other scripts/alphabets) here's and awesome resource I found.. all downloadable true type fonts.. I think the Ogham script probably fits your druid script and I'm sure you can find plenty in there to fit the bill for other languages..

The Alphabet of Demons would be perfect for Abyssal I think..

Thank you everyone for the help finding fonts thats darn near the hardest part I wanted to try to stay as true to what the alphabets should actualy look like as possible and hopefully I got close.

Four more new fonts added: Celestial, Dethek, DrowRounded, and Thorass

So far everything seems to work perfectly with the parser and everything shouldnt be too hard to keep adding.

Is there anyone that could give me a comprehensive list of all the languages a PC can know (via the DMFI) so that i can make sure that if a character can speak a language they can also read and write in it?

I think i should be able to support almost every language that exists in Faerun but no sence including a language if no one can use it.

So far i have fonts for the following alphabets and so the following languages that use them:

Alphabets Languages

Abyssek -Abyssal
Aquanek -Aquan
Aunanek -Auran
Celestial -Celestial
Draconic -Draconic
Dethek -Dwarven,Giant Common,Gnoll,Goblin,Orc,Damaran,Chondathan,Rashemi,Shaaran
Drow -Drow
Entish -Treant
Espruar -Elven,UnderCommon
Iganek -Ignan
Infernek -Infernal
Sylvan -Sylvan
Tarranek -Terran
Thorass -Hin,Alzhedo,Illuskan,Midani
