gauging interest

Post by orangetree »

Hello.

I've been thinking about this a while (mainly by playing Borderlands 2) But... I'm thinking a treasure hunt campaign could be fun, on NWN2 moonshaes. I did allude to it some time ago, and wanted to see if there would be any player interest in such a campaign.

Each treasure found would be a campaign in itself.. and since the final goal is the actual treasure, it 'might' be a powerful one (you won't really know until you find it, or take time to learn of its secrets.)

Nine treasures would be up for grabs... unique in their own ways, and each one only usable by particular alignments. (it would take a dangerous quest to get the allginment restrictions removed, if it even can be... still debating that one.)

I'll be focusing on GMT times, likely one or two week days and one weekend. (vague plan at this point).

All classes and alignments would be welcomed.

Different factions 'could' be supported in theory and done on different days. However, I will not be authorising any CvC over it. (sorry evil/good group.)

Low level players will be given greater consideration then higher level ones. I will attempt to keep the situation realistically balanced. It's possible that the treasures are protected that high level 'auras' are pushed away... hence why only low level chars can go into certain places. The reverse might be true for other treasures. (...what? Don't look at me like that, It will make sense somehow.)

There will be many situations. Political, diplomacy, shrewdness, as well as combat. Success and failure in each scenario can have consequences ranging from minimal to fatal.

Pirates and Thayans will be involved on the fringes, as well as drow and a few others.

Death house rule for this campaign:

A person can be brought to life... at the sacrifice of one of these treasures. (IF you find one first. Note that this in itself might have other curious consequences...)

Anyway I'm still thinking vaguely on this one...

We have a low level euro group that suffers from lack of DMing.
I think you got about four more that would be happy to give it a go.
(Or at least one).

pragmatic (adj.)
The opposite of idealistic is pragmatic, a word that describes a philosophy of "doing what works best."
From Greek pragma "deed," the word has historically described philosophers and politicians who were
concerned more with real-world application of ideas than with abstract notions. A pragmatic person
is sensible, grounded, and practical.

I'd do it, if it fits my very limited gaming window.

Due to new baby in town, my gaming time is from 9pm to 11pm gmt+1 on week days.

I don't expect you to change and plans or stretch far to accommodate me. I'm just saying that if it happens in that time-frame I'm more than willing to participate.

If you consider an almost level 4 PC "low level" and the times work I am interested.

No, this was merely for OT to know that she's loved.

Sorry I've been away and only just returned.

I'm thinking I was over ambitious on the scale of this quest, it would need a ton of work. My RL time has been depleated of late :(

Too much time to plan/ run/ toolset? Depending on what you're worried about requiring the investment, you might be able to get some help and/or might be able to throttle the pace of it.
