Local RP Hub for n00bs?

Been awhile since I've played on TSM, but when I did during it's early stages of release the starting area Rivermoot was pretty popular.
Is that still the hangout or have people moved onto the city?

Seems like Rivermoot and High Hold. The City if you're a Knight in Silver or a Mage/Sorcerer/Bard.

Still Rivermoot for sure.
Best chance to meet folks is still on the bridge.

((thank Mikayla for determinging the server hub point on day 2 ))

Time to burn the bridge down? Or is it one of those stone things?

Thanks for the input everyone.
Are most of the DM plots being run out of Rivermoot or are there others?

I think another interesting question is not just where DM events take place, but also how a new player might get involved. One part is the difficulty in predicting when something might take place, as its not always possible to sit on the server for hours on end waiting for someone to show up. Another issue is that its not always easy to join into an existing plot line, as more advanced/settled/known characters seem to form their self-sufficient groups/teams/etc. To take the current plotline that I'm taking from the rumor thread, you'd think the current group of heros would try to bolster their ranks with the FR version of Red-shirts or something (us new guys) but I go pretty much ignored. I'm not complaining, merely pointing out an inherent difficulty for new players that I am seeing. This looks like a very polished server, but with how hazardous the world is (and how I didn't make a beast of a combat character) I'm confined to Rivermoot sitting around waiting for something to happen.

All three days that I've had NWN2 installed for, I've been trying to make an effort to get any new players involved. If you want to shoot me a PM with your regular playing times (and a bio if you haven't already sent one in) and maybe we could arrange a time to meet. Even tomorrow if you're interested.

Hehe. I don't know what groups you may be referring to... its pretty splintered right now! Have been sequestered for a few days in real life stuff... would welcome to play with you!

I don't mean to say that the DMs aren't trying, and I caught the tail end of your work tonight Rotku (as in the last 5 minutes), and I'd like to catch more of it, as the rumor post looks very interesting. Do you know when you'll be on tomorrow? As for the bio question, I submitted a bio with my application
I can understand what you mean Riotnrrd, I suppose to clarify, I don't see many established characters interacting with those who they aren't already familiar with, whether or not they have any sort of rapport amongst each other (I couldn't tell with much certainty, not much time to study it). I apologize if I come off as criticizing, I do not mean to; I just wanted to make mention of a perception I have, and ask how I might go about better integrating into the server, as it is a nicely done server and the players seem of good quality.
edit: hmm, I suppose one way to put it, in an RP sense, I can't just walk up and go "'sup guys, got any quests?" to "random" people (aka the players) as it wouldn't make any sense (especially for my character). What is a better way to get into the plots without breaking the atmosphere? Being a merc, my guy could fit in easily enough if "hired" or something, but thats not something I can do: "Hey guys, you just hired me!"

Most DMs don't have access to the application (an exception been me). I'll extract it out and post it in the DM forum for the rest to see, if you don't mind
As for what time tomorrow, I'll probably be on chat from about 9 am my time (I think I'm +13 GMT - I think that's 16.5 hours from now, if my maths is right). So if you're around, feel free to give a buzz. When I'll hop in game, I'm not completely sure sorry. Depends what's going on around the place (adminy business tends to take priority in the mornings - then DMing).
[Edit]
Character name is Richter?

While im not a N00b, (well, some might argue) i see very little DMage, (which is soon to change YAY), but i walked right into what seems to be the start of a plot today, or maybe the middle of an ongoing one, im not sure.
My point is, dont go looking, over time, you will meet characters, and DM's will unexpectantly drop stuff right in front of you.
I personally make it a point to help any new character get off the ground, because i know what its like to be helpless and bored. Just log on, stay IC, and if you have to, pm someone and let them know you are available for some RP and that your new. Most of the time, most of the people will try to help you out.

Unfortunately my little fellow is hopelessly unavailable for much sane interaction for now

, but what I would is that when given a static quest, find another PC and ask for help. It is perfectly IC to seek help, since going it alone will likely result in death.
When you ask for help, offer some of the reward, that way it is also IC for the other PC to agree to help.
And ...Viola! You've got history with another PC
Hopefully mine will get sorted soon and be back in the mix, he was naturally gregarious before he lost his marbles

Hmm, a good idea John, although given the initial static quests, I'd feel sorry if the same guy gets asked by new guys multiple times "Oh, help you search the temple? Yeah, its not as if I've not done that before." Thanks for the tips guys, starting on a new server is never easy.
Rotku, yeah, thats the character, though in game I just have him tagged as Kreuger. If my math is correct, and you're in the New Zeeland time zone, then your 9:00 AM should be my 3:00 PM, so I should be able to get on the server to poke around and hopefully catch others on as well. Thanks again for the help guys.

Some of the more Ideaistic characters (clerics and pals) should take the opportunity to do their lords work, and its not that much of a stretch to at least get a companion for some statics, even if they have done them 10 times before "the temple is crawling with undead again? I have been remiss in my duties it seems"
If nothing else, and you see Ward around, one of his duties is to not let others die prematurly, so he will be able to help out just to see you live for the day.
