Page 197-198 in the FRCS has a small bit about this region, but i'm looking for more.

Anyone know anything more than what is written in the FRCS, and/or can you direct me to a good source whether in the form of reference material or one of the novels, etc?

In particular looking to understand more about the workings of the tribes, how they would react/interact with other races, and what they would look like.

You'll want to get a hold of the Shining South if you're able, that'll be your primary source. Power of Faerûn also contains some bits about how the Shaaran nomads deal with the Border Kingdoms. Races of Faerûn describes the Shaaran people, but, most of it reappears in Shining South, I believe.
