Banking Scripts?

IMO ALFA2 needs a set of banking scripts / NPCs.
There's no way I know of to drop gold into containers. I'd love to have the ability to deposit gold for later withdrawal.
Rather than reinvent the wheel, I'm positive scripts like these already exist. If not, I'll make them.
Comments / questions / ideas?

sounds like a great idea, especially if it gives the option to gain a very small amount of interest over time.
Even more useful people could essentially save up for a raise from dead fund etc...
if you wanted any help making this i'd be happy to do whatever I can.

I've seen "dialogue" based gold systems in NWN1's Cormyr and Daggerdale. Talk to a banker NPC who can either furnish you a box (not a chest!) for one page of inventory-tetris worth of what amounted to pstorage, or who is willing to trade words with you about gold balances, reporting what you've got, you say something about taking or leaving some, etc.
A weakness of those systems though was that the system was very "personal" to a given PC, DMs had no way to interact with the NPCs to find out anything about their PCs' wealth (no impersonation or robbery possible either, you'd need either the right GSID and/or the right character name to access the dialogues, rebuilds would screw this up too). Unlike "peeking" into a pChest, you'd have no idea if someone dumped a zillion exploited gold into an untraceable bank, though you could look at the logs I guess to notice people having wild wealth fluctuations after a visit to a certain area. Same I suppose applies to NWN2 and its logging.
In the absence of a decent "gold storing" system, 100% sell/buy value items like letters of trade, trade bars, gems, or other markers capable of going into a pChest are an alternative. Even if only certain merchants want them (i.e., have a "Thousandheads Trading Coster Agent" who is willing to buy and sell items called "Thousandhead Letter of Credit - 100gp", "Thousandhead Letter of Credit - 500gp", etc.) Maybe an Iron Throne agent is also willing to buy a "Thousandhead Letter of Credit - 100gp" for 80gp, who knows.
Again, systems of "markers" are possible to implement on a small scale if pure gold storage scripting has weaknesses or is not desirable from an IC perspective in some regions (savage little encampment with a 100% reliable bank which will never pack up in the middle of the night and run off with your savings...)

Hi, I'm new around here:)
While we're on the topic of banking/storage...
It'd be really nice to have a place to stash gear. I'm sure I'd like to own more things than my character can carry, but where would I put them? Maybe inns could offer a storage service or something? Not sure what the best solution for this is or if it's something people other than me are even interested in, but it seems worth bringing up.

Persistent storage for objects is already available on the live modules.
Persistent storage for gold is not, AFAIK, available on the live modules.

Yeah...but then again, gold doesn't weight anything (or at least I never had enough gold to weight something) as it did in the NWN1 servers. Would still be nice to have at some point though.

For some folks, not for others.
