NWN1 HotU installation question

I'm trying to install NWN1/HotU to a G: drive, rather than the default C: drive. I successfully installed NWN1 on the G drive. But when I insert the HotU disc it apprently automatically searches for NWN on C drive; of course it doesn't find it, and then aborts the installation, telling me I need to ...

Re: memory lanes (old servers...)

Actually, I just had an idea about this.

If anyone wants to make a single player mod (or mods) using a May '05 version of the NWN1 Baldur's Gate server, I'd be happy to provide a copy for such a cause. Again, email me if there is any interest.

I'm pretty sure I still have a copy of NWN1 server 052, Baldur's Gate. It's from when I stepped down as HDM in '05. I'm pretty sure I saved the haks as well.

I could make this available for download, just let me know (admin email me).

Quite honestly, a link to a newpaper obituary should satisfactorily put any (understandable) doubts to an end.

I'm stunned. WW was one of the most prolific posters (shock huh?) in the ALFA community, there from the start. He was certainly one of the most dynamic personalities. He was truly a pillar of the community, sort of a pilgrim first settler in a new world, if you will. He posted alongside such ALFAn l...

No current PC because I'm a DM. I respect other DMs' privelege to play, but personally I don't have time for both (barely have time for one, for that matter).

That's a good point, ballonger. I hadn't made the association specifically with FRCS, and we are trying to replicate the FR after all.

I actually like the blue and the brass/jeweled corner decorations which are reminiscent of the D&D core books better than the brown background. But in order for visitors to be immediately clued in to what the site is, the ALFA banner must be easily readable, and IMO it should say "A Neverwi...

I think that the reason why the first option is liked is because it's basically the same as what we have now. I was thinking the same thing. Perhaps "Use Existing Website" may have been a viable Poll option? (even if only to clearly seperate the two) What precipitated this change (I think...

I like the one at the top, Ghost. The one with light brown background and which says "A Neverwinter Nights Persistent World" right under "A Land Far Away". Very nice!

Scripted rezes are okay with me as long as they remain true to the spirit of PnP. Resurrection spells belong to D&D, I have no issue with that. A rez doesn't have to cheapen perma-death. First, diamonds of rez quality can be extremely difficult to come by. A truly precious commodity not only as ...

Evidently it is not as standardized as one would hope, ideally. ;)

To whatever extent this is not 100% in practice today it's the sort of pitfall we can avoid with everyone using the base mod for NWN2, is really my main point.

NWN2: Standardization of True Resurrection

I'm not opposed to the rezomatic option as long as it is in keeping with PnP conventions (as best we can manage within the limitations of the game engine). ALFA is 24/7 and DMs cannot be online at all hours. But I really hope we get this straightened out the next time around in NWN2 ALFA. It must re...
