Dear John^h^h^h^hALFA...

# …Dear John^h^h^h^hALFA, By the time you read these lines, I'll be gone. Life goes on, right or wrong; Seems we've sung love's last song, Dear John^h^h^h^h ALFA. # According to my join date I’ve been playing here for three years. No too bad at all considering my average staying power for PWs was pr...

Clearly this discussion has no further basis in reality.
ACs are shit. Familiars are less shit. That's all she wrote. If you can't see that then the problem is entirely yours to deal with.

Sayonara dudes. I'm gone.

Re: Stoneskin Question

Those familiars would, however, be better if they were stoneskinned, yes? Those poor beat-up sorcerers (none of whom have had Tam's current level; the closest ones died) would be more survivable, and a currently largely useless class feature would have a little more umph, if it was easy to stoneski...

Re: Stoneskin Question

Of course, directly controlling a familiar means ceasing to control your character-- so they may behave suicidally in combat (unless you've disable them, where they go into the lowest-cost variety of suicidal behavior and do nothing). They also lack the powers that balanced them in PnP and are infe...

Re: Stoneskin Question

Familiars are just as terrible, if not worse, for the same reasons. Familiars are directly controllable. Familiars are not even in the same league of shitness that ACs now dominate. Familiars are also expected to operate in entirely different circumstances to that of ACs. Shared Spell would probabl...

Re: Stoneskin Question

I think I used SS once; maybe twice. The amount I'll miss it will be directly proportionate to missing not having a fusking liability of an animal companion. SS was too strong but it helped make up for shit companion AI/controllability.

Re: What games do you play outside of ALFA?

Haven't 'played' ALFA for months now. My gaming time is largely taken up by Warframe, Hawken, Meinkraft and Crusader Kings II.

Re: How did you find out about Alfa?

I was playing in Haze and most people there were slagging off this thing called ‘ALFA’. I had the misfortune of dropping into SomethingAwful one afternoon and saw an entire multi-multi-page thread therein which was dedicated to slagging off this thing called ‘ALFA’ and everyone who played there. Lat...

Re: Pro Tip: Light Spell

Every time I've done that with an item on Tam (hat usually) the light level is much lower than that from a floaty-target-orb-thing.

...so busy in fact I had to blow off Loulabelle and friend's visit to Chicago. :( I was also unable to attend but for far less suggestive reasons than the above. What can you do. Glad folks had fun and it was a great shame that I wasn't able to implement Tam's plan to cheat at Pie Eating. Would hav...
