Back to Toolset a bit

Hi folks, It's great to see that ALFA is still going strong. Maxcell recently contacted me to ask if I would be playing again and I told him all about my old frustration with the NWN2 graphics....Fugly faces, bad walk animation , no ridable horses, limits on how many tree seeds you can have in an ar...

Cormanthor

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all you amazingly creatively people in ALFA ! For those of you who don't remember me, I was trying to get Cormanthor built a couple years ago but was continually frustrated with the limits of the game so I let go of it all and discovered the beautiful world of Lord of the Rings On...

Re: Cormanthor Password Help

aegis , I think the password may have been aegis which means protection in elvish. But if that doesn't work try some easy elvish words like telquessir, cormanthyr, arcorar. Regardless getting into those files won't do you much good. When trying to open really old stuff like that the toolset would g...

Hi there Halrin, I'm sending you an email now to your real email.

I can't remember the password though I am almost positive it was a word in elvish.

Re: Drow Light Penalties

from the NWN2 wiki

http://nwn2.wikia.com/wiki/Drow
Light Blindness: Drow suffer -1 circumstance penalty to attack rolls, saves, and skill checks when outside. This is improperly applied whenever the Drow character is outdoors, even during night time.

Re: ALFA vs WOW

WoW (and for that matter, all MMORPGs I've played) is a soulless timesink. It can be entertaining, but never emotionally involving. Over my 3 months logged time playing LOTRO I did endless hours of grinding out deeds for no reason other than 'that is what you do'. I came to realize that the virtual...

Re: ALFA vs WOW

It would be cool to play with another alfan in LOTRO but yest we are on diff servers and also the US servers dont connect with the european servers. I too tried Guildwars for a bit. The graphics were really nice and the animations amazing. I played a monk and when you did his /dance emote he would d...

Re: ALFA vs WOW

Last year I logged over 3 months of gametime on LOTRO. The graphics are the most realistic I have seen out there. Moria and now Lothlorien are absolutely breathtaking. The game designers have outdone themselves by putting alot of Tolkien lore and details into the game. For me it is an incredible exp...

Re:

...even though it looks like we're not including the Last Mythal series in ALFA2 canon... Turns out that in the Cormanthor I'm building it is 1375 and Myth Drannor is reclaimed and being restored. That means the complete events of Last Mythal Series are included and stand as canon except for the la...

Re: maybe a strange thing..

Retired NWN1 PCs can also become NWN2 NPCs. If you had the motivation to do it you could work with one of the live servers and bring your old PC to life via dialogs and quests. This would be a good way to hold onto history. (for example: Malcer as npc head of a merchant guild spouting business advi...

Re: Neverwinter Nights & Canon.

Here is what I could find searching The Grand History of the Realms . Note that the Wailing death (1372) is indeed canon and serves as the basis for the game's official campaign, but none of the events in the game or expansions are canon. 87 DR Year of the Hoar Frost Eigersstor (Neverwinter) is foun...

Re: Looking for advice

There aren't a lot of static quests to begin with and at least the ones I have found are not repeatable. Even if you wanted to you will not be able to fill up your time by doing statics. ALFA is all about the RP anyway. A big key is finding a group to play with otherwise you will be RPing by your lo...
